#FixtheMalayanTapir

The tapir is just a shoddy, poorly-executed reskin that had no place in the game at that stage of its development.
You could even argue that it doesn't belong in the base game/early packs either, since there are no 1:1 reskins at any point in time in the game's development, other than the two tapirs. The two wolves are a good example to that. Arctic Pack was the first DLC Pack announced, yet it had a wolf with a unique model. Same can be said about the two tigers and brown bears in the base game. Not to mention all these examples are same-species assets, while the two tapirs are not.

Are the two brown bears different models? I've never compared them because I've never used the grizzly, but I've seen plenty of complaints that it's just a 1:1 reskin so I assumed it was.

They are slightly different both in build and face. Female HBB and GB for comparison:

What's most interesting in all this is, if we consider Males and Females of each Species have a different Model in the game. Then this would mean Male Tapirs of Different Species are more similar to one another than Females of their Own and vice versa since Male and Female Models would be identical across Species but not different Sexes in each one.

Not completely sure about adults, but cubs are definitely different. Himalayan ones have collars like Eurasians, that's why I use them as a stand in
Collar is just Skin though isn't it? Although I think I remember they are also different in Model.

Wow, that view is a good remind of everything wrong with the model. I don't want be rude with Frontier's job (which I 99% respect and appreciate) but I drew better bears when I was 7 years old. That's just an sphere with no neck and four too fat legs. They are so fat that the hump is barely visible, but that is what gives brown bears their very distinctive shape (shoulders hump shouldn't be lower than the bottom!).
Can I just say, I reallllly hate this potato-looking Grizzly bear model.
Yesss, they are almost useless to me, specially when you compare them to a Polar or Sun bear which have much better models.

Hoping that on Tuesday we will see notes of a remodel! The fact that it hasn't been done in the year and a half since release only leads me to conclude it's not a priority. Which given the feedback from the day the DLC released, I don't understand. They fixed the binturong in less than a week. Yet here we are still with this incorrectly designed tapir. There are calls for other animal remodeling, but those mostly seem to deal with the art style choices, not the entire animal design. The problem with the tapir isn't a stylistic one, it's flat out wrong.

The fact that the story of the new scenario seems to be centered around a Himalayan Brown Bear, makes me a bit hopeful something could be happening to the model. But I guess that is wishful thinking:

Joined by Nancy, you'll arrive and learn you have a new famous Bear to look after! Having been kept by an in-world celebrity and not looked after properly, this Himalayan Bear has made quite a name for itself in the news, and now guests are flocking to come and see it themselves. Work together to give the Bear the best life possible, and to create a spooktacular experience your guests are sure to love!

It almost sounds like a metaphor for how badly we think Frontier treated the model of this bear.

Imagine in the patch notes Malayan Tapir and HBB get remodels
