Planet Zoo: Twilight Pack arriving 18 Oct 🦇

After watching Rudi's video on the new pack, I'm definitely feeling the hype. Animal-wise it is still my least favourite selection so far, but in a lot of other ways this pack is truly amazing.

Firstly, I am positively surprised at how versatile the new habitat is. Sure there's looped animations, but I'm already very pleased that we can change the box and even get a null barrier. This makes me also hopeful we will get that option for standard exhibits. In general, there's a lot of space to add foliage and rocks so even if we were to get birds in this way I wouldn't be too mad with the exception that 20m is too wide for most aviaries..

The decorative wall pieces look much more realistic and less cartoony than I thought and I am definitely gonna use them to create a cool-looking Indonesian-inspired forest (it looks very much like the lava stone walls in i.e. Borobudur).

Foliage-wise, the new pack is also great and we finally have fungi, which means that we may also get more mushrooms as well as kelps or even corals in the future (which bodes well for the Foliage Wishlist).

Also, I know this is a hot topic but I would personnaly be satisfied with a system like this for birds.
Absolutely would agree. The looped animations don’t have to be a non-stop flying loop - they could be sit on perch 1, fly to perch 2. Sit for a while, fly to perch 1 again. It doesn’t have to be as simple as flying in a circle for bigger species of birds. I absolutely agree that this system can and will be used for birds in the future!

OMG so many videos!! The bats are absolute must haves, the exhibit is better and more customizable than I thought. And they are soooo cute!!! Thank you Frontier for bringing them. And other animals are a blast too, so many new cute animations. Even Foxes have so many new animations and locomotion, people thought they will be re-skin but they are absolutely not. I looove the DLC and update, thank you so much Frontier!

Yeah, got to say the Red Fox really pleasantly surprised me. It has alot of unique stuff, it even uses the burrow. This just shows everyone that was saying this is a "filler pack with easy to make animals" that its not really the case. I mean, I see why the animal picks will not be everyones cup of tea (some of them would not be my first picks either), but Frontier mostly puts effort even to these small creatures, trying to make them stand out with similar ones (with some exceptions, like the Malayan Tapir).

Soooo... as someone who bought all DLCs on release date, I will buy this one too, though it will be my least favorite of all.
Why? ... I don't get that halloween stuff. Damn, the world is a really big ball in the universe and people already complained about all the christmas stuff that came with the Arctic pack, cause... there's just no reason to ever use it unless you wanna build a zoo that celebrates christmas all year long and excludes all non-christian people and people who aren't into religious stuff at all and couldn't care less about christmas. Now it's the same with all that halloween stuff. It's just too themed, too specific and I bet, the Transylvanians (romanian styled castles and draculaesque building pieces) couldn't care less about that all-american holiday.
Sure, the pumpkins and the whole shebang looks nice and well made and stuff... but I can't think of any occasion I would use it.
Stalagmites are highly welcome though.

:)

Is this supposed to be satire?
If not, honestly please explain your opinion.
I do not think that the bat loops look good.
They look jerky and like they are getting pinballed through the air.
The animation does look amazing in slow motion, but only in slow motion.
In real time they look like they are tumbling in circles through the air, with their turning looking like tank controls.
I watched rudis and leafs videos so far for context.
The fact that you can null barrier the exhibit and that theres nothing in it is genuinly great and it is the coolest and imo only atleast somewhat worthwhile exhibit animal ever BUT i do find both the loops and the fact that we cannot adjust the size disappointed.
Id be okay with this system if the animals inside could either move freely, had genuinly varied and good looking loops and come in many different shapes and sizes, but this just isnt the case.

Im genuinly quite disappointed by the update, which tbf was my prediction from the start. All the features are nice and good, but simply do not add anything to my own playstyle (sandbox player that doesnt use exhibits in a long running zoo) and seem generally more like prototypes and baseline work that will be exspanded on in the future, which is great and important, but simply not for me.

Scenery looks dope though and the trash panda rebellion Succeeded so its not like nothing interesting was in the update for me, but both the walkthrough exhibit and the update itself predictably were not my jam, with the exhibit being somewhat of a bad omen for the future. But hey better then another 100% useless box.
Im quite sure that i will actually use this and while im disappointed, beside the imo actually really not polished looking navigation (not animation) of the loops, i can see the system as the prototype it is that will hopefully be expanded on in the future.
But rn it really us quite meh to me, but im happy for all who like it

You know Halloween is celebrated elsewhere, right? Also like the Arctic theme, the more holiday-based stuff isn't the main part of the theme, so there are plenty of gothic pieces in the theme, not just Halloween decorations

Not nearly as extensively, though. You'd be hard-pressed to find the kind of over-the-top decorating that Americans do during Halloween in other countries.

I don't disagree with the rest of your point, but I'd even say "Gothic" is a pretty niche theme - not as versatile as the Arctic wood. Those spires and towers only have a few real uses. Of course, in a perfect world whenever they added new wall and roof styles they should create those pieces for every set (I had this same beef with the South America Pack - they added those awesome inverted roof pieces but only in that one thatch style). Hopefully in the future we'll get a theme-maker's toolkit like they had with Coaster so textures can be swapped around.
