Elite Dangerous: Halloween Event 2022

Apparently it was posted on Steam yesterday. I know now, because when I asked for a source I got downvoted and called a scumbag. 🤷‍♂️
Not exactly how that went down lol. You accused the person who shared the announcement of making it up because you yourself didn't see it. All good, now you know. Hope you all enjoy this event!

Not sure we should get into this, but that's not quite true. I asked for a source, he posted a link to the Discovery Scanner, which obviously didn't include what he claimed. Then I asked him if he made it up. Because I specifically quoted the parts I would have liked to know his source to, which he didn't provide. This pleasant person has been "messaging" me all day now with nice little comments.

Greetings Commanders.

This Halloween is sending chills throughout the galaxy with an unsettling in-game story to be told...

A harrowing tragedy has befallen a number citizens in the bubble.
What happened to them?
Anyone who solves the puzzles and uncovers the truth will be rewarded with four unique cosmetics.

Will you dare to follow the breadcrumbs all the way down the trail...?

Stay tuned to GalNet, in-game or via our website for your first hint, coming this Thursday, 20th October.

[This event is open to Horizons 3.8, 4.0 and Odyssey Commanders]

When you say "Horizons 3.8 commanders", does that include PS4 and Xbox players also, or is it just PC only?!

If it does include us "poor" console players, it would be easier to just say, "This event is open to all Elite Dangerous players", as the why it's worded right now has me and I'm sure others slightly confused!
😯😂😀🤘

While I recognise that it all part of modern-day communications to use Steam, reddit and twitch - it would be nice to have some 'home-grown' challenges. A breadcrumb-trail quest with associated challenges within the game is always good (provided the reward for effort is there) - and especially if it advances or affects major plot threads or lore - but how about seeding a few messages in the Forums for folks to find? You could always Edit an old posting with clues as well as post new clues in old Threads. Who knows - it might even make a few Players glued to their reddits to discover the in-game Forum and actually start to contribute? While there will always be criticism (dons tin helmet) - just not as salty as those experienced elsewhere.
