Summary
System: Andavandul
Station: Blenkinsop Hub (Ocellus Starport, large pads available, 1,990 Ls from main star, 123.15 Ly from Sol)
Objective: Deliver Computer Components, Semiconductors and Titanium
Time limit: 27th October 3308 @ 06:00 UTC

Description
Federal Governor Dalton Chase requests deliveries to the Andavandul system to establish a xeno-peace envoy vessel.
The initiative spearheaded by Chase, a member of the Liberal Party who is currently campaigning for a congressional seat, intends to provide a megaship for use in Thargoid Advocacy Project operations. He announced:
The Federation’s leaders are sworn to protect its people, yet our aggressive interactions with the Thargoids have placed entire systems in great danger. Order of the Far God cultists shouldn’t be the image we conjure when suggesting non-military options. It’s time to prove that we possess the capacity for peaceful relations with other species.

The megaship established on behalf of the Thargoid Advocacy Project will lead a non-partisan diplomatic mission representing humanity’s call for a ceasefire. Its purpose is to find ways to communicate with the Thargoids and make peaceful overtures. Imagine it: diplomatic channels between different races. Peace in our time! Lend us your support to lay this foundation for a more harmonious future.
Deutsche Elite Piloten Interstellar has agreed to host the pro-peace megaship initiative, and will organise payment for shipments of computer components, semiconductors and titanium to Blenkinsop Hub in the Andavandul system.
The campaign will end on the 27th of October 3308. If the final target is met earlier than planned, the campaign will end immediately.
To earn rewards you must sign up as an active participant before delivering Computer Components, Semiconductors and Titanium to Blenkinsop Hub in the Andavandul system.
Be aware that faction-state changes and other disruptive events can negatively impact markets and station services, and could prevent the initiative from running smoothly.
Notes:
  • Blenkinsop Hub is orbiting planet 6
  • Station services: Commodities Market, Shipyard, Outfitting, Repair, Restock, Refuel, Social Space
  • Prices at Blenkinsop Hub:
    • Computer Components: 6,374 Cr/T
    • Semiconductors: 9,315 Cr/T
    • Titanium: 9,905 Cr/T

It's a shame there's no system in place to make mining at all practical. I would love to mine some titanium to support this community goal, but if I do, I'll end up delivering probably about a 10th as much as Traders.

It would be neat if they made mined Goods count for extra. Maybe something like a 5x multiplier. That way trading would still be the ideal choice, but you could mine if you wanted.

Edit: TIL you can't actually mine titanium! The more you know. Still, for future cgs...?

Would have been nice to know what type of megaship and who is going to be contracted to build it but that might have then got to political and then changed the CG...
This is helping the FEDS so the feds should be out in force..

So alliance and empire should not care to take part realy...
65,000,000 to end CG early that might be safe lol

Hmm, no huge profits to be made by the look of it. ;-)
Nope charity peace talks PR stunt megaship CG...
bet they all have a brand new beluga each after this CG... ( just like in the old days when brand new set of wheels would magically be fitted to their BMWs the week after..)

Just some numbers, to complete the cg fully we need around 556,000 T/hr until the end of the CG
The CG is not actualy meant to complete your meant to get to tier 4 tier 5 are meant to keep the CG going till next thursday now....
Hence the stupidly high 65 million....
the last 2 cargo CG were 60 mill to be sure they lasted the hole week but they were not for federation so the extra 5 mill is insurance...
CGs are successful at tier 1... so hes got his megaship it's all about how much he can divert to other things now.

It's the first* attempt to treat with the Thargoids. All supporters of the Xeno peace idea from any faction would do well to support this effort if they really want to give peace a go!

*not the first.

Well, I'm doing my part, but let's face it - peace with Xenos seems like doomed undertaking in arcade shooting game. Also it's hard to imagine Frontier actually removing Thargoids as a threat for people to shoot at (unless introducing something else in their place), so it might feel like pointless effort to some. Even if campaign will be successful, it will most likely not mean peace with Thargoids - but it might mean start of some new, potentially fun story-line - and people should be interested in that.

I guess the narrative has room for good thargoids and bad thargoids.
Or for misunderstood thargoids - which are on the run from something else and that something else is now also coming our way.
So an uneasy thargoid - humans alliance against a tougher opponent is not something absolutely impossible

Sure tougher opponent is not impossible, but realistically another threat would mean big changes to the game (assests, gameplay, lots of work) and I have my doubts Elite is in a place where we should expect changes of that scope. Personally I also don't believe we're going to see good and bad Thargoids- this would make them too "human" and I think they biggest selling point is their being really alien.
I'm more inclined to expect some kind of trouble with that mission - especially that it's unlikely it will reach even second tier, so I assume very limited success - like f.ex megaship will be launched, but it's translation computers will be prone to mistakes, and instead of sending "we come in peace" to Thargoids it will tell them that "Your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries" ;)

^^ :ROFLMAO:

I do think it's folly to think that Thargoid culture is one massive monoculture. I for one don't believe that Fdev have 'abandoned' the idea of there being two (or more) factions of Thargoids, whether they're named the Oresrians and Klaxians or not. The idea that Thargoids have factions and different subcultures been telegraphed since the very earliest days of the game, before the Thargoids were even encountered in ED. It seems very likely that there's (at least) one faction that we've been interacting with for all these years, and at least one other faction that's still out there.... or maybe 8+ others if each Stargoid is a hive Queen?

If that's the case then peace (or some variation of it) with some faction of the Thargoids may well be entirely possible (or one Queen maybe). That leaves plenty of room to still fight Thargoids - but maybe with some new generation of hybrid Tharg-human ships and weapons from our allies.

It won't require changing many game assets or adding 'new enemies' either, in Out of the Darkness it's explicitly stated that humans can't really tell the difference between different Thargoid factions since it's down to tiny differences in carapace patterning - that is an excellent setup for a reason to use the same assets for any faction stuff that may happen :)

This CG is really interesting, whichever way it goes!

I seem to be getting a lot more interdictions during this current CG - nearly every time I enter the system - and seem tougher too. I normally use a shieldless T9 as I rarely lose the interdiction game, but last night I was winning when it suddenly 'flipped' and I lost, to be swiftly destroyed along with 788 tonnes of Titanium. So I've now resorted to fitting a shield again, it's become so bad.

problem here is...
thargoids arent interested in negotiating. they want us to stop stealing the materials that took centuries to make, and they want us to stop treading all over their properties.... and they want us to stop killing them too.
until we do these three things, there is ZERO hope of communication/negotiation with them... unless we somehow happen across a cabal of 'goids that are pro human or have seperated from the hive somehow.
or that (retconned or otherwise) second batch that is supposed to not be warlike as the ones we know.
still, having made top 10 commanders for the trade end of this bgs i hope i get a front row seat to watch the envoy get blown up by thargoids. thats what the powers that be want, once that happens they can then say "hey, we tried to talk to them and they wouldnt listen! war is the only option, and here... buy one of these handy warships to do it with!".
we've been duped by greedy lying politicians. suppose its been going on for thousands of years tho, we shouldnt be surprised.
there are places on earth where its still legal to shoot someone for trespassing or stealing your stuff, why would we no afford the same right to thargoids? they are WAY more advanced than we are, they have been around longer, and the war we are forcing on them is a war we are losing.
good thing tho, we are the bad guys.

Congrats on the top 10!! I managed to get in the top 10%, the highest I've ever had for a CG :D

FYI: In the (maybe not true) lore, the Thargoids we've been fighting all this time are the 'weak' and 'less warlike' ones, and have already made deals with some humans, after we used bioweapons on them... The ones they are running from they describe as much stronger and more warlike...
