Do Twitch Drops only work if the stream is 'Live'???

Its amazons/ twitch rules that only live content features drops... Not the broadcasters...
Twitch requires live views....
There is nothing stopping Fdev putting a voucher code up in the live stream for Youtube viewers but they dont as thats the agreement with twitch...
They could just add a code in the description on youtube.... but then the view figure tank on twitch...

Thanks for explaining, I was unaware of those rules.

Perhaps some sort of time-delayed thing? I.e. those that can catch it live do so, but three days later (for example) it's available on Youtube but with the code shown at some point during the video... I expect people would share the timestamp though... I'm sure there's a way to see how much of a video someone has actually watch on Youtube, right? Perhaps view time can be counted for that way, as it does with Live twitch. Really don't know what the platform does / doesn't allow in that regard.

View minutes for this weeks stream are going to tank...
Time required for the paint job was set to 15mins from 30 mins...
So you need even less time on live feed to get the PJ now...

Went to this anouncement https://www.elitedangerous.com/news/halloween-2022-creator-twitch-drops and I'm having a hell of a time finding any live Twitch streams with drops enabled!
Go here:

And look for anyone live in this list:

If you're not referring to the recent Halloween 2022 painjob drops, let me know. Frontier themselves currently only stream every other Thursday, normally.

They all have schedules posted on their page - just click "Schedule" and you can see when they are on.
That would be great if they actually played ED.
One of them is again streaming themselves rebuilding a car engine, and another is currently playing a different game.
One in particular hasn't streamed at all during the event.

Well the campaign for these three repaints from streamers runs until 3rd November so you have plenty of time to drop in on psykit or UnusualCupcake on Thursday Friday and Saturday just this week, psyche is doing 5 hours tomorrow and crispytaytortot is on later tonight. psykit did 3 hours this afternoon cupcake for example.

So I don't see your actual beef - just 'cos nobody was streaming Elite when you wanted that makes it a disaster does it?

BTW - I notice that a few on the posted list don't have a schedule page - I never used those streamers so hadn't noticed.

My "beef" is that giving drops to a small selection of hand-picked individuals is a slap to the face of the majority of regular ED streamers.
Instead of handling drops like practically every other game does (giving drops to any streamers who enable them) fdev have instead chosen to disadvantage the majority of people who freely promote their work, by redirecting audiences to the "drops" steamers. And then some of the chosen few that were privileged enough to get the drops and giveaways don't even bother streaming the game and/or participating in the event.

Wot, wot???
We've been stood up on our regular Thursday date

It's biweekly.

This whole drop thing is a bit weird and just about artificially inflating viewer numbers.

"Turn on the stream of an ED content creator for 3h. You don't even have to watch it!" Those paintjobs are about as environment friendly as bit coins. :ROFLMAO:

Everyone on the list has been streaming consistently to give out drops because I watch most of them. You don't even have to be there to claim it. Just keep the tab muted if needed then hit the CLAIM button on the inventory page when it shows up and you're done. You can catch them at different times of day since there are some from the States and some in UK etc.

I have to say that I think that is nonsense. Sorry, but there it is. There is a spread of dropping Twitchers and they are to be found streaming elite often enough for lots of people to complain to F D that the cobra repaint (the 2 hour one) isn't showing up in the game, so much so that the cm arranged a special support facility to fix this:

No, they haven't. I can give specific examples and to stay on the right side of the forum rules I am NOT encouraging witch-hunting these people.

MalForTheWin - has not streamed at all.
Malic_VR - has been streaming rebuilding his car engine instead of ED.
CaptainFlint - yesterday streamed Everspace 2 instead of ED.
CMDRAscorbius - did one stream four days ago and nothing since.

I admit some of the others have been making more of an effort than usual - grinning_crow has done more streams than he regularly does (which is still less than daily), and unusualcupcake is being consistent but she's in the midst of a partner run.

But that doesn't change the fact that a significant portion of this "hand-selected" group have done a poor job of utilizing the privilege given to them.
Drops should either be given to everyone or no-one, not a chosen few.

Yesterday when none of the drops streamers were on, I looked at the ED category on twitch and there were less than ten people streaming with a combined total of less than two-hundred viewers. Nobody is going to keep streaming ED for audiences that small. The little streamers are already switching to other games and when the event is over the drops streamers will do the same.
(And before anyone suggests these numbers were because of the weekly tick - it was several hours before, I even spoke to HeatherG in somebody's chat at the time.)

As stated in the topic they requiring you to help them work out why it's not enabling the cobra.. But is releasing the other 2...
Support is doing it manually 1 by 1 of you send them your pic... If still not releasing automatic the manual monkey will flick the switch...

Hello CMDR,

Thanks for being in touch with us.

Sorry to hear about what's happened here! I've now gone ahead and provided your CMDR with the Noctule Blight paint job for the Cobra MK III.

This should be available to you on your next log in.

Let me know if there's anything else I can help you with.

Kind Regards,
Support Agent

I am going live shortly from this post. I do not do VR when I am sick, it makes me dizzy as hell, so I have been doing stuff that that does not make me dizzy

Looking at the current live twitch drops campaigns (39), roughly half of them are set to only apply on selected channels only. These include drop campaigns for games like War Thunder, Vampire Masquerade Bloodhunt, Lost Ark, PUBG, Don't Starve Together, and Cult Of The Lamb

I think it just shows that there are a lot of people on the internet and for every possible topic there will be some people on both sides of the argument. 🤷‍♂️
