On my way to a Carrier Administration system, gonna get this Universal Cartographics upgrade, after that I'll take a break from exploration, perhaps farming materials or doing some bounty hunting, I need to fill up my Carrier cargo with Tritium again and get some more credit to play safe...

Yeah, I'm not much of a fan of short range flights..preferring multiple jumps between ports...Robigo works, but zzzzzzzzz

This mod disable the holo gram for landing pads, srv/on foot boarding points. (togglable , I set it the same as the external view toggle key so it disable the holo when switching to external view)
This allow more beautiful external screenshots!!

I like to mix it up. Some short jump rounds (<20ly/jump), couriering data or delivering goods, then some trips (max jump range of ship used) from Suhte to Deciat and/or Wolf 396 to get another ship upgraded. Sometimes, I even stay in Suhte or jump over to Khun for some material collecting.
Cool. But as it seems, you have to be a member of this discord channel to be able to access the link.
For the scorpion, you need a military base i.e a base with a military economy that also has the outfitting service. Iirc, I got mine from one planetside. Inara should help here.
Point to note: if your SRV is destroyed, you do not need to revisit a base to rebuy it - you can repopulate the hangar through advanced maintenance.

It's about personal preferences, after all.
I tried it once, but after about 5 runs I realised that it wasn't for me, so I left the place for good.
Re my previous comment - it's Hawking's Gap of course, not Hawkins. I guess it's named after that fantastic bloke who knew a lot more about the Universe than I do, the sadly late Prof. Stephen Hawking. He was very good at maths, which I'm not. I mean, I know that 2 + 2 = 5 but that's about it.
2+2=5? I always thought that it would be 6...

I use 2 x heatsink launchers to make sure I don't run out to stop scans. Once you are allied with th factions you don't seem to get chased by system authority ships. You don't get scanned at Robigo Mines outpost either.
I'm still gradually on my way to Hawking's Gap and just got first discover on yet another whole system. Has multiple stars, several gas giants and the usual assortment of smaller icy and metal planets and moons. One of the gas giants is one with ammonia-based life which are apparently pretty rare. (Maybe not quite Earth-like planet rare, but not very common nevertheless.)
Anyway I decided to try to map it and took this screenshot just before I tried to get into the best position to map it:
Like quite a few others I usually don't bother to map gas giants, as they are not simple to map and still get an efficiency bonus like you can with smaller planets. The rings get in the way and usually I end up firing a gazillion probes at them, just to be able to map them at all. With this one though, I did manage to get a bonus with a probe to spare. (Fired 16 out of the 17 required.) I did this by ignoring all the "front view, back view" stuff and first of all mapping the side facing me, then physically flying my ship to the other side of the planet so I could do that side.

You're thinking of something else. That's not possible on a Robigo run.
If it's Robigo to Sirius Atmospheric from Hauser's reach, yes it is. I returned to CEOS after that and experienced the same, scan and detention.
Unfortunately, I suffer from motion sickness and cannot use the SRV
I tried it once, and it made me feel sick after a couple of minutes....
It's a shame FDEV don't offer element mats for mission rewards like they do for data and manufactured items.

Without motion sickness, SRVs (at least those in Horizon) are a complete nightmare to drive anyway...Unfortunately, I suffer from motion sickness and cannot use the SRV

You did it wrong. You never, ever go to Hauser's reach. It's just Robigo to Sirius and back.
