Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

I'm out of the loop, can someone explain what's going on there? and speaking of which, how's the state of star citizen today? 2nd star system not arrived yet? how about squadron 404?

It's just hype for their ship sale.

That's their cut-scene Jeremy Clarkson. At the end of the last sale event he narratived off to survive in the second solar system. Which has missed its latest 2020 deadline somewhat, so he's a bit narratively stranded.

They'll probably just show him miraculously being there anyway.

The tech which was supposed to lay the path to these lava realms in June (and, like, years prior), is currently still on fire in the test beds. CIG have managed to get one of the usual quarterly patches out this calender year (3.17), and are shoving the sales event into that (3.17.4).

SQ404 is currently 'undone til it's done'. As always.

It's all going swimmingly ;)

Ok, 720m yeet, that's definitely a new record...

Hopefully we can break a kilometre by Christmas :)

There is definitely something up this patch. It's not just door frames doing it. Think it might be some form of excessive 'force reaction' miscalculation caused by desync maybe? (Here's another example near a vaguely glitchy ship - could perhaps be the 'pushed by jets' feature exacerbating it in these cases? But seems it's only really vague collision that's required).

Turbolift. Or: You're a hated, vile individual. The police are looking for you, Anticitizen 1. Once they catch you - they put you in orbital catapult and launch you off world in a little cabin.
You could make a survival game of that, I've seen worse settings.

You could even make this game before SC ever gets its crap done and sorted out. Earn decent honest money and a reputation. Like Tynan Sylvester did with Rimworld e.g.

I end this tsunami of posts with some retro gossip:

2020:

-Chris shoves his nose into everything and messes it up on the regular.

-Big exodus of talent leading to 22 year old 'leads'

-Crap wages [They claim elsewhere $30k for a Junior Dev]

-Citizencon demos were extremely tightly controlled and still fell apart constantly, they took weeks out of production to glue together each time.

He's personally convinced it will never be released in a playable form, and hell, same.

From a guy who knew a QA guy who was there around 2016-2019. Now stop fighting this info and say uncle...
