U say that like its a dissappointment, when in reality it busted open like an explosion and exceeded all expectations by far more then we could have ever dreamed of

Wow, I've been playing around making a medieval-themed zoo and was thinking this morning about how I planned on downloading a red deer mod when I got home to put them in there. Serendipity!
I'm currently dining on my words.
Though being honest the red deer was probably the last thing I was hoping for, but hey, I won't complain about freebies. I very much wanted a base game clone.

What we got was better than a clone. I still hope some clones like the arabian oryx and american flamingo make it in one day.I'm currently dining on my words.

That is subjective. There are a dozen 'clones' I wanted over the red deer. As I said I'm not complaining that we got a free animal, but unlike the black-and-white ruffed lemur this isn't one I'm going to probably use all that often. Exciting to have our possibilities expanded, sure, and I'm very happy that the roster has expanded even if it's with an animal that was never going to feature on my wishlist, but I would have definitely preferred a Sumatran tiger, or Eurasian brown bear, or even the American flamingo.
I guess it irks me a little that we now have four pretty well-made deer but still two kind of average-looking tigers, two very average-looking brown bears, and so on.
And the Malayan tapir still isn't fixed!
In a way, the animals which were ommited from the base game got a better deal as their models are so much better.
what a great surprise! love the deer! ngl I was expecting something for the new bat exibith like parrots, but im glad we got the deer!
