What animals need a rework?

In addition: Not really a rework, but some adjustment of colour for the Przewalski Horse. As it is now, it is to dark-red-brownish, whereas in reality it is a more light greyish beige (similiar to the foal (whose colour is great!), but a bit darker). The dark colour, which now is on every horse, should/could be a colour variation. But all in all the colour is much too "saturated".
It was really a weird Choice to make this the Standard Variation. Przewalski Horses like that do exist but the lighter ones seem to be way more common

Maybe a hot take but I would suggest the raccoon is too small. It's also just kind of disappointing that they didn't give us the big chunky, fluffy, round ones. That's one of the first overhaul mods I'm gonna look for when I start using them.

I feel like the more of these that get pointed out, the less likely it is that any of them will get changed. I'm honestly more interested in everyone's top three or something. Maybe someone should make a meta-wishlist of this.

For me, in order, it goes:
  • Malayan tapir.
  • Male sea lion (size adjustment).
  • Himalayan brown bear.

I can deal with the rest, but these ones are all unusable to me.

I would say that the scimitar-horned oryx are also too dark in general.

You can see that they're usually a much brighter reddish colour.

It would also be neat to see them with a bigger variety of horn angles, but that's a little more far-fetched for the game.

Yeah i was thinking the same thing. There are a lot that people mentioned that i really don't have any problem with (the wolves for example, they can be better? sure but they are not as bad as some other animals)

For me is the African Lion, hands down. And the malayan tapir of course.

I don't really care much about the himalayan brown bear because i don't think i will ever use it, but the model is not good.

that skin in particular is too brown but there are one with the tipically red neck

I still think the lighter one is almost too dark! It would work as a darker shade variation more than the other one, but there's still what I feel is a lack of the really much lighter, almost sandy look that some of them have. SH oryx are bright white first and foremost, they almost glow with it, and I feel like that quality to them is lost. I think it's also that the markings here are quite stark, and not as subtle/faded as they should be. The colouring around the rump, for instance, should be dialled way down. The eye stripe in-game is also a little dark - it's very bold both above and below the eye, and while irl oryx have varying levels of eye-stripe, the vast majority of stripes are fairly pale and might not even be visible above the eye!

Note the very sparse colour on the hind leg, and the much paler facial markings! You can really see just how white the rest of their fur is!

Now don't get me wrong, I love having these oryx in the game and their overall quality is superb, but I also see a bunch of these guys nearly every day at work and their colouration is part of what makes them so pretty, so I happen to be a little bit pickier about them. 😂

Spotted hyena needs a buff, they are so skinny. And wolves could use a rework on their head, they look weird like regtangle. Now planet Zoo developers are so much better creating animals, they would impriove them alot.

Oh yeah, I forgot about the (western) chimpanzee. The adult still looks way too juvenile, especially in regards to still having a pink face where most adult chimps have grey faces.
I was so disappointed how much Primates got ignored when we finally got Variations in the Game. There are so many awesome Variations even for that Subspecies alone. They also forgot to give the male Chimpanzee the white Hair on the Chin. The Skin Color is fine though in my Opinion but we should get some Variations so the Skin and the Fur won't look almost completely identical for every Chimpanzee

Bison, needs to be bigger
Camel, needs to be even a little bigger
Cheetah and Hyena, they need to make a better baby models

The Bison's size needs to be increased. These are absolute units in real life and the game just does not reflect that, at least not enough.

Remodeling..the Malayan Tapir of course...I'm still baffled why this hasn't been addressed...realizing it's because it's not a priority to them of course, but why is it not over some of the other animal tweaks we've gotten?

I don't see many people mention the plains zebra, but I feel like they are in need of a rework.
The head shape always seemed off, once you compare it to the Przewalski's horse the animations start looking really off too, fur shadings are deserving of a rework,... It has ended up looking like a Schleich figurine rather than an actual animal.

Also the Stomach. Reminds me of a Pony if I look at it. They would need to be really overfed to look like that.
As a big Horse Fan I agree that it would be great if they would improve it🦓

Yeah I'd love if the plains zebra was reworked as it's a very weak model. As well, I'd like to see it reclassified as a specific subspecies, likely the Grant's zebra as that's the most common of the subspecies in zoos.

I know they've been brought up before but I'd like to bring more attention to the spotted hyena. I was super excited to use them again today but was a little disappointed upon being reminded of how off their model is. Unlike most of the game's carnivorans which are too chunky these guys are way too skinny, although they do share the same problem of being a little too rounded (especially in the ears). They also look way too doglike. Something about the muzzle feels a little off to me as well although I can't quite put my finger on what, and the legs might be a tad too long. I admit I'm a little biased as hyenas are some of my favorite animals and while I'm happy to have them in the game at all, I can't help but feel like these adorable and underrated creatures weren't done justice.

Slightly off topic side note, but a leucistic hyena was recently spotted in the wild (excuse the pun), and I'd love to have this variation in game (as well as a second hyena species for that matter, but that's way besides the point).
