This is a review I recently wrote and its a shame, it had so much potential and still does.

Totally wrong.

We have them, because the game was released as bare bone system and that features and depth, would be fleshed out as time when on as mechanics were added to the game over time. Hence filling an empty room with furniture.
Please show me where Frontier said they were going to add conflicting Fed/Empire ranks after launch?

Same with Exploring, FDev wasn't expectation people to get the great annihilator in an eagle in the first week. Which totally ruined it for people who part of The Great Expedition, who were expecting to have to organise supply chains, how to repair their ships and all the other factors that come with deep space exploration, based on the things Fdev were saying before and during the launch of the game.

So don't tell me nonsense, you have no idea what happened as you wasn't there in the beginning, and you weren't there when it happened.

I was. I was also part of the FGE. I don't remember anything being ruined for us, things became apparent in the Beta that they wouldn't pan out the ways we had initially anticipated. So we decided to plan on taking individual/small group journeys and seeing how the game played once everything was open to us. I didn't even realise you were part of it.

The MMOs you want Elite to be like are all subscription based. It is impossible to compare games with a steady stream of funding and a dedicated workforce, to a company that charged a one time fee and helped them to expand into a well established and regarded developer/publisher.

I am honest. I don't lie.

You can ask the mods how times I edit my posts, if they have details on that sort of things.

And thing with autism, is that things need to make sense. If they don't make sense, then thing irk me. It's why stuff like King - Admirals annoy the hell out of me, at a fundamental level as it simply just doesn't make sense.

I have ADHD, it has cost me friends and almost cost me a job. But just because I have ADHD, or you have Autism, isn't an excuse to talk to people the way you have. And some of the things you have said about the developers who make this game you profess to love, have been completely out of order in my opinion.

I have no idea what your point is with this, care to expand?

One of the biggest consequences in Elite dangerous should be the choice of ranking up with the major factions, Imperial, Federation and Alliance. And the biggest argument against this is "I want my Federation Corvette and I want my Imperial Cutter". Which is the most short-sightedness argument you could possibly have as it's fundamentally wrong on all accounts. And it shows, just how much people can't think outside the box and take what they see for granted, without even thinking what such a move could bring.

What possible reason is there, that can stop you from getting both?

You could get the option to buy one as reward for doing top tier mission, by a faction that happened to capture one previously. Get a lucky find on the black market, which may or may not lead to someone chasing you down to get their stolen ship back. More interesting and unique gameplay. the ship may have been stolen from another crime boss and he ends being impressed with you and offers you a chance to work him, blazing your own trail that is unique to you. Welcome to your life of crime.

Why do you have to give up either the Corvette or the Cutter if you already have both?

If you betray the Federation of course it comes with consequences, common sense dictates that it would, but why would that mean you would have to give up your ship? Yes, the federation may not want to repair you, but what about Independant systems? Back water planets or stations? Pirate stations with illegally stolen parts? So what part of having to choose one or the other actually means giving up anything up?

Consequences is one the most important factors of creating a rich game. They don't stop you doing what you want to do, they just proved you with clever ways to get around.

For example: So you're blocked from entering military system x under Federation control. So what, I joined the Alliance got myself a high-ranking mission (because now we have properly structured military careers and faction progression) to go into that blocked system under stealth (need to develop proper stealth and stealth detection mechanics) to scan and record and military activity in said Federation system. Playing the stealth game to get in and out before they break your cover and discover you or you make a mistake and boom, you got your burners on, getting your backside out of there (Maybe they even give chase in the hopes of taking you down before you get away with the info) and reporting back to base for a reward or a slap around the face depending if you failed the mission or not.

And just because you join one faction, doesn't mean you can't join another one later. How you cry? Well, you track down a fixer who can sort the problem for you. You work him for a while, build up the rep, introduces you to a contact from the faction you want to join and bob's your uncle.

Of course, this means you can't back to the previous faction either, what it does mean though, as you stabbed them in the back, they will never trust you again like they did before, but that's life and the consequence of your action.

Stuff like just adds more depth and feeling to the game, it doesn't prevent you doing stuff, it just makes it more interesting and unique you and the trail you are blazing.

King - Admirals just removes so much possible gameplay.

Running mission for the Federation, the jumping down to the Imperal's the next, is just shallow, it doesn't make sense with the lore and it doesn't make sense full stop.

So how can you have game play when you have King - Admirals? Because what's left is very basic and shallow.

Sorry to hear you have ADHD, I had to live with on campus at uni, with someone who suffered ADHD, for some reason he kept having this urge to get his little mad out all the time. Felt sorry for him really, caused him no ends of problems. It's not a nice thing to have.

And yes for me, I struggle with communication, and I am abrupt. The cost of a combination of Dyslexia and Autism has cost me many jobs, nearly left me homeless many times, self-harming when I really stressed. But then this really is about who has the worst leaning difficulties. It's about letting people know, so that understand that, it may not be as bad as they think.

As exactly in the same way, I never laugh at people who have English as second language, hats off to them. I am struglling to learn Japanese at the moment. Hajimemashita.

What I find wrong is that you mods, have allowed people to post meme's as ways of targeted laughing at me, just for my opinions. Have you removed them? No. So that is perfectly okay, but to criticise the developers for failing to take advantage of the opportunities that arise is out of order? Albeit abit abraisive.

Also, you don't speak for all members of FGE, some of whom I have spoken too were very disappointed with what happened and how things never really developed. You don't hold a monopoly FGE on opinion, just because you are a mod.

So yes, I am sorry for my abrasiveness, I try not to be, but it's hard for me. Just like the guy at uni with ADHD that has his urges.

Well Lore isn't law.
I used to be an independent before i chose to help Utopia in PP, now im more picky which side i choose in CGs and general what factions i raid.
However before when i was independent i played all 3 factions/Powers for my in game characters fortune and gaining those ships to use and role-play with.
I tend to use Imperial ships to run missions for them but im really an agent of Antal.
Why wouldn't folks be double agents? Why would they not achieve high level ranks in both factions, history shows us its entirely feasible.

Most folks run missions and CGs based on reward, mercenary's if you like and have no real interest in how it effects anything but their credit balance.
Imo there's nowt wrong with that.

No I don't, as you don't for the game or this forum.

People are allowed to disagree with your posts, and some express this in different ways to others. If you feel something has crossed a line then you report the post and ignore it. Not reply, and then get annoyed nothing was done about it in the first place. The moderation team isn't omnipresent. Well except for Yaffle... But we don't wake him unless we really have to.

Um...what's a "King - Admiral?"
This guy i think

And look at how that turned out for,

The Witcher
Rings of Power
M-She-U
Star Trek (the new, not old)
Star Wars - Under Disney
Cowboy Bebop
Resident Evil - TV
Wheels of Time - TV

The biggest franchises around all failing recently, because they thought, the Lore isn't Law.

Nothing wrong with being a Merc, in fact I would still argue the same way as despite me not wanting to be a Merc, I would still want them to have a richer deeper meaningful experience as a Merc.

As a thinking exercise, what can you come up with to a merc's experience in game richer and more meaningful about the kind of consequences as one. I'm mean looking at Boba Fett in Star Wars, he was Vader's best, the number one bounty hunter for the imperium. Didn't stop him from working for other people of riches elsewhere. The Empire still kept him at arm's length on certain things as there was a consequence to him being a Bounty Hunt, a Merc for hire.

So come please, come up with some ideas on how the Merc experience in ED could be improved.

Um...what's a "King - Admiral?"

A King - Admiral is player who has ranked to the top in both the Federation and Imperials. Meaning they have ranked up in two factions that hate each other's guts and have some really big wars in their past.

It is the equivalent of me ranking up to the top rank in both the Rebel Alliance and Empire in Star Wars. Because according to some, that is perfectly fine and makes for excellent game play.

I think you just have to come to terms with the fact that the game that FDev has developed simply doesn't correspond to your dreams.txt.. FWIW, it doesn't correspond to mine either, but I don't see that as a reason for disappointment, that's just the way things are in life..

I'll repeat my earlier statement that it's entirely possible that what we have is what the revenue of the game has allowed FDev to create. If it would have generated more revenues then it would by now have more stuff and possibly be a better game, if it would have generated less revenues it would have less stuff or possibly already have had the servers turned off.

Did you know that you can be very good friends with two people who hate each other and that this is no problem? I consider the Kings-Admirals in the same way: you have made a lot of sacrifices for them and helped them a lot so they reward you, therefore, they have no interest in resenting you for the fact that you work with their opponents because it does not harm their interests in any way. So yes, that is perfectly fine and makes for excellent game play.

Again its down to personal opinion.
IMO there is nothing wrong with the system as it is.

Star Wars - Under Disney
As someone who is old enough to have seen the premiere of the very first Star Wars film back in December 77' i disagree, Disney and modern cinema technology have made the latest films masterpieces far exceeding my experience as a young lad watching the first trilogy as it unfolded.
Its always been a thing to have a go at successful company's but the truth is without Disney's money the franchise would have stayed dead and children like my son would never have seen the Star Wars universe as lets face it, the old ones are dated by modern standards.
Again IMO.

Do you consider that people can be both Top ranked in the Rebel Alliance and Empire, just for having friends in both factions? Do you not think Darth Vadar/Emperor wouldn't come down on any people associated with the Rebel Alliance like a ton of bricks for being considered spies? Can you not see the problem with this.

Is this what you are suggesting?

I mean, it could be the case that a King and Admiral could be friends, working together behind the scenes, to bring about a lasting peace between both factions. That is entirely possible and was one of themes in the anime Legend of the Galactic Heroes.

But for the something akin to achieving the highest rank in both Rebel Alliance and Empire, is just not right.

Your right, you are entirely to your opinions, even if you are in the minority, regarding the franchises I spoke about.

As seen by collapsing viewing figures in said, shows, and the only and the only response from said companies is that the fans are misogynistic racists. As they suffer billion dollar loses.

Seeing as the Federation/Imperials/Alliance have the same animosity towards each other as the Rebel Alliance and Empire, how would you justify some ranking to the highest levels of both the Rebel Alliance and Empire?

Please can you answer the previous question too.
