1.04 update frame rate drop

Just updated to 1.04 and I get about 7-10 FPS frame rate drop. Bringing me to around 69 FPS. Witch kills the immersiveness on the rift. I have turned everything to low and I still get judder. (before I was getting around 78fps on medium with shadows, blom & blur off)

I'm getting the same thing. Even just looking around the galaxy map seems really 'juddery', best word I can think to describe it.

Yep something changed. I am getting a little judder and when in supercruise the white stars flashing by are bright as well, seems like it is going in and out of dark/light mode.

Not just Rift. Playing on a monitor I suddenly get bad judder as well, particularly in SC when approaching bodies, and when approaching stations.

I'm OK out of stations, but seem to be getting more judder inside now (nothing definitive).
Fun moment: had a clipper cut off my lakon type 6 as I was about to enter the slot and watched him explode as he ran straight into a type 7 that was on its way out. It was pretty awesome.:)

Well I ran Afterburner and watched while playing, frame rate was well over 120 in most cases and dropped down to 50/60 when near once of those insane planets with the huge ice rings. But I did various tests and even when my frame rate was well over 100 the weird lighting effects (white flashing?) and judder was still present.

So doesn't appear to be frame rate for me?

EDIT: I stand corrected. In stations it can all of a sudden start the text blurring and the rate can drop to 50 and 40! Even just using the menus. This is new!

Playing last night was smooth as ever for me. The slowdowns I experienced the previous day don't seem to have been related to the 1.04 update.

i haven't played for a few weeks but found I had to lower some more settings to get smoothness again. Not sure if it's to do with the update.
I now seem to get frame rate drops using the station services menu which def wasn't happening before.

I must say I go get occasional stuttering or significantly lower framerates - but only in busy network instances.

Worst I've ever seen was in a High-Intensity Conflict zone (which also had tons of bugged guided Missiles never de-spawning).
There it got so bad that it became unplayable sometimes, incl. sound stuttering.

Seems to me the increased pairing of P2P candidates for any Network Instance came with a price of these framerate drops, as operating with only very few Players or alone still yields a constant 60fps (VSync On) no matter what.
Not sure why the framerate is coupled to the network sync (if my observation is correct) - IMHO that would be quite unusual and counterproductive to a smooth gameplay experience.
I'm afraid you're right. My laptop has solid performance at my home connection, but due to the XMas holidays and work I've been in two/three different environments. Results pretty simple:
Home - 60FPS, all good, no problems
Site 1 - frames all over the place depending on wireless signal
Site 2 - frames all over the place depending on wireless, even with graphics quality reduced to lo and screen resolution cut

I've no idea why the networking code would impact FPS esp. as the bandwidth requirements seem low and none of the sites I use have bad bandwidth (am on 4Mbit/s up/down at the moment for example) with a ping of 1ms -no that's no typo, it's 1ms to a local server in-country) but my location def. affects performance. I guess the distance to the respective Amazon servers make the difference.

I only play solo and have a lot more juddering since the update. I doubt it's anything to do with network load.

Not just in stations but in supercruise as well. Before the update I had lowered all my settings to minimum (except the quality slider) and it was smooth 99% of the time. Now I get jitters frequently and almost every time I approach a destination in supercruise.

I've also found that I get massive head tracking lag and low frame rates for 10-15 seconds after exiting system view. Galaxy view does the same sometimes.

Okay, I'm not the only one that notice this. I'm running a i5 4 core clocked at 4.0 and a R9 295x2 and something just knocked the crap out of my FPS. Before the patch I was getting smooth 75FPS sometimes even in station. But it was always smooth in space and in astro fileds. Does anyone have news on when SLI and crossfire will be fully supported? -peace
