1.1 collision damage

I was just entering a station with 32m/s and four pips in SYS when I deliberately and gently scratched along a leaving Orca. The Orca exploded and I had barely one shield ring left.

Well, is that behaviour intended or was it even worse in beta3 or both? :)

I just watched someone on stream hit a ship at like 10m/s and instantly explode. Granted his shield was down but it was instant death

Sounds about right to me. Massively heavy, delicately constructed objects hitting each other ring vacuum..

"Hull integrity.. Compromised."

Oh expletive!

So it got adjusted but it still looks like it's a rather harsh outcome for sliding against an object for seconds.

Wow they let those changes go live? Staying docked for tonight... well I might be anyways with the clipper bug.

I just brought my first batch of metals to Yembo. In an exploding Asp ;)

Collision damage definately has gotten a lot more harsh!

NPC ships is also a lot more aggressive in stations. They even try and enter AND leave the same time now.

Lost most of my shields with my Python after a tiny scratching to an NPC that just wanted first.

do you really think they are going to change it over night? More like in a weeks time so they can stuff something else up. I am disappointed myself, but has nothing wrong with a bit of pew pew in sidewinders for now.

Nah, it's just that the engineers in 3030 are coming straight from Idiocracy. They didn't hear about bulk-heads, impact energy dissipation or impact surfaces. They just build metal eggs that implode at the slightest ding.

Pretty broken, I just scratched and orca with full shields and got blown up, it wasn't a hard hit, just a "belly rub" on the flat part of the ship.

Moments later I was undocking and a Cobra was coming in, I accidentally clipped him and he went down from full shields to 30% hull. It was a direct hit, much stronger than the orca scratching and I only hot my shields down to one bubble.

Yep, Anaconda with C3 shields scraping against an NPC Asp at less than 70 speed resulted in no shields and 52% hull on my Anaconda. xP Such a hefty repair bill, especially considering the scraping only happened after the Asp had passed my viewport, and 'nudged' the rear-right of my ship in passing. What's especially odd is (for science) I scraped up against another Asp shortly after, this time with full pips to shields, and didn't suffer any shield damage whatsoever. In any case, I'm going Full Paranoid during trade runs, and thankful that at least I'm not in a player-populated region. The NPCs are aggressive, but at least they're predictable... daredevil boosting players, on the other hand, would likely make me a very sad panda.

They reinvited the Ford Pinto in 3030!
