1.1 collision damage

Yes I am down over 5 million this morning from minor impacts. Going to have to stop playing until fixed as I am losing credits at about 4X the rate I can make them. This was from only two events (one on the first pass of a conda on conda fight, the second was trying to leave a station.)

Friend in an anaconda has lost 5.5million so far this evening from minor scrapes.

This is like the million of credits in wear and tear fiasco :)

Is this a bug or a new game feature?

Bug. ...God Willing. xP Given the hit-and-miss (lawl) nature of these collision booms, looks like every so often the ships bump in some way that causes the program to decide "THAT WAS A HORRIFIC IMPACT!" even if it barely counts as a fender bender. Given this isn't a beta situation, though, I ally can't afford to experiment with my Anaconda to see if there's a particular angle or speed of impact causing this problem.

If it's not a bug it seems a bit disproportionate that grazing shields or hulls with another vessel does more damage than the weapons. If that were the case capships would just be firing empty sidewinders at people rather than carrying weapons.

Edit: ahh sh*t, this better not be the new DF spamming

There is a simple solution to this problem. Don't undock. And if you do, do it in a sidewinder and have fun with the other ships. :) I know I won't undock until this is fixed.

They really need to not swing the pendulum of balance so far the other way so much. Whatever is their first thought, half that. Would most likely reduce the impact of gamebreaking issues.

On the plus side, any NPC ships ballsing up and blocking the postbox won't be in the way for long! :D

Tell that to this guy:

Apparently NPC now like to loiter just outside the hatch while covering as much of it as possible, just to make things even more messy.

They claimed they fixed NPC pathing in and around stations, but actually it's no better (possibly worse). They STILL get stuck near the pillars and landing pads and pose a hazard to anyone nearby (yes you can be unlucky enough to have one slam in to you while on the pad) :/

And I thought it was just me.. in the last few hours NPC's have cost me around 3,000,000 credits in damage repair bills, one brushed the side of me on exit and another rammed into me from behind as I was leaving the station.

Was just exiting station in my Anaconda and there was an Orca in the way. Some mild fizzles, "Hull Integrity Compromised" and suddenly hull down to 65%. Repair cost 1.5mil.

OUCH.

Seems like there's some serious inconsistency here regarding collision damage?

Sweet mother of god it's a rammer's paradise and I'm 4000ly from populated space and working late tonight.

I'm taking this troll personally, FD. This is of epic proportions....

I see what is going on here.

They added content finally since we all have been asking for it. Unfortunately they thought that a bunch of extra exploded bits of ships all over the galaxy counted as "content"

It's a typical problem for many games in the beginning of the multiplayer experience. No nerfing, nerfing too late and in this case, too much nerfing. It's off putting and they don't seem to realize it. I expect to see a reduction in some of the nerfs soon.
