The in-game VOIP of ED actually is pretty good. They "for flavour" added "transmission noise", which for my taste should be tuned down. For use with friends, regular TS still wins, not due to the quality of the actual transmission but due to the artificial noise. But when just encountering people, you in ED can just open channels and talk, without requiring to invite everybody into your TS server.

So, with the absence of bugs, this would be really better than a random TS server.

Built in voice chat would be fine if it had a considerably larger range of volume.

Had to log in twice the other night as I got the server error the first time, other than that everything seemed far more reliable than before. Text comms (I don't use IG voice), wing functions, instancing were all rock solid where previously I've had problems with all of those.
