Patch Notes Update 1.6 and The Engineers (2.1) update incoming

Hey guys,

Quick update. Looks like the server down time will be going over the 10 hours as suggested could be possible in the first post. We don't have an exact ETA but keep your eyes on this thread and we'll update it as we get it.

Thank you again for your patience.

Zac

Thanks for the update, Don!
Good work!
Kiss all from me! [yesnod]

Update 9: Looks like we're going over the 10 hour mark. Thank you for sticking with us and we'll let you know as soon as we have a better ETA for you all. (18:13 BST)

It's software. It's servers. It CAN NOT BE DONE IN THE PLANNED TIME no matter how much reserve time you're planning.

TAKE YOUR TIME!

What else to say than "Take all the time you need".
Thanks for all the hard work.

If they "multiplied their repair estimates by a factor of four", like Mr Scott, we wouldn't all be jumping up and down now, would we? :p I'd rather wait four days for perfection than 10 hours for bug city. Of course, we're still going to get bug city after four days right? :)

It all works out in the end :) keep up the excellent work ED.

I find it fascinating how the online gaming industry seem to think that full day worth of planned downtime is still an acceptable service disruption. In addition to annoying most of the customer base, having to work under the pressure of such a very lengthy outage must be very taxing on the people involved. I guess both gamers and game developers/engineers must all be of the forgiving and patient type.

Is there an ETR posted somewhere?

You have to be very thick skinned to work in the gaming industry these days.
