I discovered this video over the weekend and it resonated very highly with me and, while I had thought about making a thread for it here as the OP did, it's intense impression on me ended up in one of my other, rather long posts in State of the Game...

Edit: These lines of my post in particular...

I mean, for my money, they gave me a 1:1 representation of the local galaxy containing a, near enough to infinite, number of stars with realistic physics/astrophysics, as we know them today, a pallette of pretty good graphics and a set of tools to explore and experience the game world.

This is most probably the closest I will ever get to existing outside the atmosphere of the world I live on. I want to see it all in one possible future scenario.
