I don't know... economy routing is surprisingly long... I estimate around 120,000 jumps to circumnavigate using economy that alone without exploring or doing anything else is ~2000 hours.
now if you add in ... scan every system you jump to... 10,000 hours easy, but by hell that will be one serious payout on return...

I was refering to the likelihood of such an endeavour failing prematurely because of an unoptimised build, destroyed modules, low jump range, dangerous scooping etc. etc. All of which could lead to a sudden and immediate return to the bubble.
Sure you could explore forever, even in a sidewinder. 'Could' not 'will', that's what I am saying.
