100's of hours in ED and didnt realize something so obvious till now

I am ashamed to say, I have read none of the ELite fiction stuff (except the novella that came with the ST version I bought back in '86 or '87). Something I plan to correct shortly. I'm hoping I can purchase digital versions, I do hate paying for shipping for books...

Z...
The dark wheel was the novella! Well at least it was for the 84 beeb.

OMG! the hauler looks like a transit van! I never noticed..

The snake thing falls over a bit with the adder and sidewinder doesn't it?

Sidewinder still reminds of a snake head, short-nosed) Some snakes commonly referred to as a sidewinder have pretty short stubby nose and 'eybrows'. To me Sidewinder with deployed hardpoints is really going for that look.

the Asp does not look like any snake's head that I've ever seen, and in case anyone is wondering, an Asp is a southern European viper which is also often referred to as an Egyptian Cobra. Also the cobra is a bit of a stretch, I'll give you the python does look like a snakes head, and the anaconda is similar enough I suppose, but the diamondbacks are right out my friend, so sorry, and yes a diamondback rattlesnake is also a type of snake, and if you want me to believe that they were modeled after a snakes head, your going to have to show me some pretty strange snake heads.

There is another Dark Wheel type organisation - The Glycon.
They have some influence in the naming of spacecraft.

Yeah the Asp is a bit off, but the cobra does resemble the ship. Look at a pic of a Cobra in its aggressive pose with its sides out, its basically flat and wide, just like the actual ship. Not saying it looks exactly the same, but represents that shape.

The Ananconda/Python/Viper/FDL definitely very much resemble the actual ship. Eagle looks like a bird. Orca looks like a whale. But as you pointed out not all look like something so maybe youre right could just be a coincidence, but personally i dont think so.
