There's support for both sides of the issue. Leaving CGs vulnderable to the BGS is helpful for players who align with the political factions and only participate in CGs that affect their chosen faction, but it harms the gameplay of those who are apolitical and participate in CGs because they enjoy the CGs on their own merits.

We've also had far more numerous examples of CGs being interrupted due to coincidental BGS changes than due to deliberate player activities.

Yes - but I thought they said the solution was to increase the difficulty to push a system to lockdown. Not prevent the mechanism entirely.

These are more and more clear not community 'goals' they are community participation efforts and players don't drive ANYTHING in regards to the story. It's an illusion and this proves it as there is now no possible way to legitimately contest a CG.

I could agree with a previously unknown CG being launched in a lockdown system and they flip a switch to change that at the very beginning to allow the CG to kick off. But after that players should be allowed to shut it down if they so desire.

"Let the Yttrium flow through all of you my friends!"

not likely - it can be toxic to humans (lol)

Am I getting it right that this is the change for engineers:

for every micro-ressource gathered we get three of it into our indestructable storage

and

we still need those normal commodities that are blocking our standard cargo-holds????

this can't be serious?!

what nonsense.

If this is true our data/micro storage will get spammed with all those common loot things - and our cargo is still blocked with modular termials and stuff???

No. please no.

edit:

dev response telling engineer commoditiys are still required:

Anyone else wondering if there was a Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch situation going on in the ED development centrebasethingy, what with the confusion between 3 and 5...

,,,nah, just me then :)

Hello everyone! Can't wait for the servers to get started because it could well be raining arsenic! [wacky][smile]

Actually, the confusion would be between 2 and 4... 5 is Right out!

Hmm, if only it was possible not to scoop things you didnt want, or remove them from your cargo...

Or maybe twenty dudes in between jobs shouldnt be able to block a superpower-backed initiative in the first place? Sometimes you can chose when there are opposing CGs. Sometimes a superpower decides to do X or Y, the other superpower ignores it and you as a player just have to accept that. The whole 'there is no player participation' is , check out emperor's dawn as an example. You just cant always get what you want, and that is something entirely different.

They've never once actualy fixed an issue. They've only attempted minor work arounds or ignored the problem and this is no different. Just look at wings and turrets and instancing and matchmaking and the list goes on.

right.

I'll calm down again. But I was so happy assuming engineer commodities will be gone. What I am learning from it: never assume anything that is not clearly spelled out...

If only it was possible to comment about what was said instead of burping up such antagonising and blatantly trollish garbage.
Got to the engineer after jetosoning your commodities and try rolling or try targeting each individual can to find out what it is BEFORE you pick it up and BEFORE they time out in a high density wreck field. Go on. See how that works for you.

Does this only explain the servers being down, or also why people cant update in the first place? If only the former, any idea how to fix the latter? :)

The servers are always down when an update is applied. Usually within minutes of the actual download being available, the servers also go back up. At least that is how it has been for the last couple of updates.

I do not know if it has been mentioned (or covered by this update), but yesterday, on the Missions Board, I found a couple of smuggling missions starting something like "Snake some supplies". Should this begin "Sneak"?
