That sounds awesome to me. makes the game feel alive , dynamic and real.

FD need to add a new gameplay option ''open-without magic'' its a mode that has no magic in it , maybe even make it pay per month , because I would pay hundreds of euros a month for a more immersive game

If you are willing to pay hundreds of euros a month for a more immersive game, feel free to take a plane and fly to Vegas or Monte Carlo in RL. :)

You don't have to schedule weeks in advance to wing with people.

Make an animation of a shuttle/pod flying over to the other ship, then make it so you can multicrew while in the same instance and it works just like wings do right now.
 
Mark my words, this is going too be a mess. See you all in 2018 for season 3. The only good thing is it is'nt going to break anything in Solo, I hope.

This is looking like some pretty awesome stuff that you will be able to expand on in the future if desired.

I think everyone that's unhappy with it should either:

A) Wait for the beta and actual change-log before losing their noodles... or
B) Get into game development and make a new game just they way they want if it's so easy to do.

It does sound great , but instant magic-pilot transfer is crazy. even with ''telepresence'' makes no sense.

If its telepresence then why even fly a ship at all? why even do anything when you can teleport a fake body billions of lightyears away.
In lore we have a max range on fighters? is that just because they are cheap? do bigger ships have a better telepresence function?

I got into elite and paid a lot of money because of how immersive it was , because of how intelligent it felt.
 
On AWS cloud. Yep tell me how your going to implement this again? Netcode for SRV instances is extremely buggy still so your saying multicrew is a possibility too. Or will Fdev be getting a nice new shiny dedicated server so that we can all play on instead?
 
It doesn't say anything how FD will handle AFK players. Which I am sure they will do.
To be honest , I dont care what other players do as long as they are not killing the space time continuum with magic ship transfer and telepresence with unlimited range.

If someone wants to cheat that way , I loose nothing because they are just leeching off someone elses work.
They are not upsetting the ballance or gameplay for me , or the lore. they are just some guy sitting in the backseat of a ship.

But I agree that from a gameplay stance something will need to be done

true, this does have a stink of PR disaster if the networking is as shaky as it is now.

What it has to do with AWS? Local instancing is done via peer to peer, using direct connections. As for bugs 2.2.03 fixed bunch of critical ones, and 2.3 no doubt will work on more.

Why people keep mentioning dedicated servers? They will make transfer slower, gameplay slower and doesn't remove lag as potential issue, nor either hacking (as evident with Space Marine from CIG).
 
They will also track your contribution to kills, which is easy to do. I don't see problem for them to detect if you are just slacking.

I think you are hoping for too much ... if the idea is that all combat profit gets duplicated to all CMDR's on the ship, why add some kind of "you did x-amount of shooting so you get X amount"? - that is not going to happen, really.
 
This really does not fit into the spirit of how multicrew is being described. Everyone getting 100% payout automatically fits perfectly.

Description is for people to digest at this point. Of course they are aware of potential AFK exploits. Also it might be they undecided how to handle that (as they usually decides during beta period).
