With the Dev update of 2.3 - the Commanders - what are you looking forward to the most?

The headline features - Multi-crew/Avatars

Or are you more interested in what else the update will bring? (extras)

Selling credits for real money. HazReS 1.99$ per hour, CZ's 2.49$ per hour.

This, watching spurious commanders being able to monetize ED by selling time in their ship, and exploiting the fact that rewards DUPLICATE. Oh hey boss i am bringing my friend, can we have twice as much money? Sure....

I'm looking forward to see if the background features/improvements can make up for almost 6 months of nothingness.

But mostly I look forward to see this released and in the past. Its like those months before the CQC update all over again :D

I would have been stoked for multicrew but after reading that there are NO roles for anything but combat, my excitement for 2.3 deflated faster than a popped balloon. Honestly the coolest thing about those features was that there would be a new camera system.

But if you don;t do combat then you are not a legitimate player are you? Or you are doing it WRONG.

Avatars will be cool. But apart from that I would love to see more....things, and stuff too. You know, different things to look at.

Flimley

Headline features don't appeal to me. Unless of course the multi crew is steered towards all professions and not just combat. Would really like to see some new exploration content added as detailed in the thread by Zeeman(hope I got to correct CMDR)

My favourite bit is when Ed will talk about "the most amazing bit that we're not allowed talk about yet" and I spend ages trying to guess what it might be, and eventually forget.

Until months after release and I remember again and then I'm wondering which feature was the amazing bit he'd been talking about. :D

The camera, on the assumption that it's a proper external view and not just on the bridge so you can see your new commander avatar (and your crew mates, if you're not playing in solo). All other announced features so far are totally useless to me.

That's fair enough but I would say that 90% of the "Additional changes" have been widely accepted and appreciated

Anything more than combat would require some extreme coding to allow the crew to do something that you as the pilot can't.

Besides which, there's plenty of combat for miners. Pirates exist, you know. And for Tradeships. Pirates again. And even if the trade ships don't have need for gunners, you appear to be getting 9 pips, so you can max shields AND engines and keep one in weapons, if your tradeship has three spare seats. Miners will be able to shoot mining lasers longer with more pips. And explorers will be able to take a break and help any of the others out with what they're doing.

Where is the stuff for combat only?

You pretty much just described it :D

I guess that's being based off the fact that rewards are combat based for Multi-crew

All bounties and vouchers that the helmsman (ship owner) receives are duplicated for each crewmember, making multicrew a great way to have fun with friends without missing out on money-making opportunities.
