2 Modules, I'd love to see in ED.

I'd love to see a Size 1 Module that contains all of Advanced Auto-Docking, Supercruise Assist, and Detailed Surface Scanner with a 0.5 ton weight and cannot be engineered. It's annoying to have to put all 3 on different spots on limited exploration ships or even mining ships. Which cannot be done as you only have one size 1 slot due to how strict some builds are.
I'd also like to see a Size 3 Combat Multi-Limpet Controller that has Hatch Breaker, Repair, and Collector. This is a bit of a tedious one to have to split into multiple spots, easier to use these as you need them on a combat ship if they are all in one.

I agree with this one as we don't need the extra slots they added to all the ships when the SCA and ADC were added to the game obviously 0.5 tonne is not going to happen but a standard 1.0 tonne might be doable.

I disagree with this one for combat ships, pirates and the like maybe but not combat a waste of good space for proper defences.

One or more response may contain sarcasm

1 tonne would be over doing it for 3 modules that don't have any weight to begin with, 0.5 tonnes still might be over doing it.

I just added a suggestion about Customizable limpet controllers, why have so many different multi-limpet types, when you can just pick what to use, SRV bay style?

Following that logic, a Multi-role Autopilot could exist. You need higher ratings for different functions, so supercruise assist for one, auto-docking for another, auto-undock for a third (this distinction already exists between normal and advanced Docking computers), de-orbit, and landing on planets could be 1-5, and if you only want one, just buy the 1-slot option and use it.

I'd also continue to follow that logic for Scanners, because why not.

Personally I don't see why we don't have Supercruise Assist and Auto-Docking in the settings, rather then a Module over all.

It’s supposed to be a trade off when outfitting a ship between convenience and whatever other functionality is being sacrificed. Whether that decision making offers anything of value to the game I’m not sure, as I never got into the habit of using either and don’t think about their absence.

Sadly this is a bit of a contradiction: If say I wanted to farm a Haz Res for materials while doing Pirate Massacres and Bounties. I would have to do a Collector Controller and a Rescue Multi-Controller at the bare minimum. Which in turn reduces the over all defenses one would have if they wanted to go about it this way.

Cold water incoming...

A fundamental aspect of choosing a ship for a task, is balancing out the pros and cons of it's available slots. Load-out crafting is part of the game, has been from the start. I wouldn't like to loose, or trivialize a basic feature of the game, just to make way for the perfect explorer build. Without this kind of balance, consider what the FdL or 'Vette could become.

Yes but I wouldn’t consider this to be combat I would consider it to be materials gathering.
If I go to a Haz Res it will be in a ship that just shoots things to bits unless it is my Corvette which does have collector limpets, and I wouldn’t be going because of a mission just to shoot stuff because that is what I fancy doing.

Yes it's what you fancy on doing not everyone is the same, this was an idea/suggestion. Not everyone wants to run a Corvette. I'm glad your Corvette has Collectors. I'm sure it has Repair limpets too.

Really? This again? And so soon after the last thread(s)?
You make it sound like it's a crime to talk about this suggestion/idea. Sounds like an issue you have with me for whatever reason. Feel free to report, nothing I have said has been rude. Just pointing out what I see, honestly why would it even matter?

I mean, I didn't see those threads, but if you want to add utility to small or medium ships without also buffing big ships, give them slots that only take certain modules, similar to how big ships have military slots for armor or shield banks or whatever.

I don't have an issue with you, why should I. I start to have issues with the same suggestions being dragged out over and over - in this case the "give us the ADC and SCA for free" one with a tiny bit of variation and the DSS sprinkled in for extra fun. None of the posters for integrating those modules for free or combining them into one or any of that is prepared to give back the extra slots we gained when those modules were introduced. Why don't we just integrate all modules into one - or better yet, into the ship's computer - and remove all compromises and choices we have to make when building a ship?

The last one about this is just a smidge over a week old and not too hard to find - it's still on page 1:

Now you may argue "my suggestion is totally different!", but it all boils down to: I want the modules but don't want to spend the slots.

Hmm... no thanks. Personally I don't use ADC & SCA and i love my standalone pre-engineered DSSs or standard ones with G5 engineering...

Ymmv though... 🤷‍♂️

I would be satisfied with a size 2 supercomputer that could handle multiple basic functions.

Or if im being pithy about it, remove internal inconsistencies - there is an auto-land feature when looking for somewhere that isn't an actual landing pad.

All my Suggestion gives is a new module that cannot be engineered, and works with all 3. Not saying we get rid of the others, a new module that can do these things if we desired them. For free no while sure it'd be cool to see Assist and Auto in settings. Even I know that won't happen, make it an engineered module that you have to earn or farm for. Just having the option for all 3 in one module that cannot be engineered would be cool. It's not like I am saying we need to have a Size 5 FSD Booster in a Fuel Scoop, that would be something else. Rescue Multi-Controller already has Repair/Hatch/Refuel, why not a Combat Multi-Controller with Repair/Hatch/Collector. Could even increase power for a combined module that has Auto/Assist/(Basic) Detailed Scanner that cannot be engineered. Also adding a bit of weight were none of the 3 has weight at all. It's pretty balanced, if they add this it's not like they will get rid of the modules some people don't want Assist/Auto while wanting to engineer the Scanner. Just a basic option that can prove useful to many that just wants a little more from a Size 1 slot. Though I have to admit it's been years and I highly doubt they will even see this, doubt they will even care for suggestions despite having a suggestion page on the forums. Honestly I'd rather have the Auto/Assist/(Basic) Detailed Scanner on my Mining build, but not so much on my exploration builds.
