2 very annoying and time consuming things

Hi folks,

since i got a Lakon Type 6 transporter i recognize 2 things that are very annoying:

1.:
When i docked at a station and want to start again, i always have to wait at least 10-15 seconds until some kind of hatch goes down.
I remember that when i got a Cobra MK III this was only for the first time but not any time.

2.:
When i frameshift from one planet (system) to another and arrive in the new system i am not able to regulate the speed.
I always have to cancel the super cruise by braking down to 30 km/s and then press "j" and then accelerate and press "j" again to go into super cruise again.
Then i can regulate the speed.

These 2 things cost plenty of time.

Best regards,
BW

2 is not normal. You should be able to control your speed using the throttle when in SC after jumping into a system.

Think you might be doing something wrong here.... Keep the time to your destination at over 0:06 using the throttle in the blue area - be aware of getting sucked into the gravity well of your destination and you'll be fine.

In essence - got hell for leather towards your destination and watch the timer. Once you get to sub 0:10, start moderating your throttle downward to the middle of the blue section on the bar to the right of the scanner. If the time to destination increases much, add a little throttle, if it decreases, back off.

You should only need to drop out when you get within the safe distance of the destination.

If you overshoot, throttle back, realign and approach with caution.

FD just happend to respond to this very thing recently. :)

Hello Commanders!

The delay in launching waiting for blast shields to operate is not something we particularly want (which is why some of the pads no longer have them). We will, hopefully, be removing the remaining delays at some point (I believe the process is a little finicky and lower down the priority list at the moment).

1. as others have said this will be changed. medium size pads are slower than small and big that why you did not see this other with smaller ships. upgrade to type-7 and you will be rid of this.

2. can you describe in more detail? most replies seem to think it has to do with arrival to station in SC, but to me your OP sounded like an issue when exciting from hyperjump to the star. exactly what is the problem?

That's the exact same timings I use!

Even easier way.

Jump into cruise, set throttle to 75% using the "75% Engines" key and then leave things as they are. No throttle control needed at all, just keep yourself aligned. Time will go down until it reaches 0:06 and stay there. No overshoot, no need to play with the throttle. Simple!

Indeed, though the max power to engines then throttle back APPEARS to make it all go faster.
