go search high tech, high population in boom and rep up

Is it honestly as simple as that? I am not sure it is. I have looked in high sec, boom, large population and seen some 5m missions, but nothing like 50m. Is it because that 50m requires 200ly trip? I dunno.

i'm not interested in money making schemes but the vid does make a solid point at 4:28:

"while i understand the need to balance payouts, it is shocking how little frontier tests these mechanics before putting them into production"

nail head. imo that's what's fueling the whole uproar. if they delivered consistent game mechanics, even if some players didn't like it, most would just go with it. this erratic behavior just questions their authority and stirs up most of the discontent. payouts have never been really balanced, ever, but never there have been so many complaint threads as now after these flops. there's even people spotting conspiracies and hidden agendas where there is just ... sloppy work.

Yup. It's a shame that the game seems to be catering to the lowest common denominator at the moment. When the game was at it's best was when getting things was a challange. You had to plan your course of action. Not now. Everything is so easy to get I am now ignoring missions as they pay far too much it becomes not fun. Luckily there is plenty of game without the missions.

It still is a challenge if you dont chase down and do the money making gold rushes.
I've done one that was smeaton till it got nerfed. I had an ideal amount of credits i wanted then i was going to stop but it got nerfed before i got to that figure. I dont chase credits normally. I just do what i want to do. And in that credits dont come fast. Specially when internals cost more than the ships. And when ever there are fun missions that pay good they get nerfed.

Sure mate, but I think if everyone hammers the mission board the required haulage missions will dry up. I'll send you the details, then thats the last one for now.

Cheers

Understand that completely. Would like to find my own honeyhole as a change of pace from running meds to outbreak.

If you have the time and/or care to: Is it on the edge of the bubble, or outside it? Isolated? Does type of station matter? Single big run or lots of med or small ones?

Thanks

It's funny I have been ignoring missions for the opposite reason. They pay far too low, it just leaves me feeling resentful.

Luckily there is PvP and Piracy.

Been playing for over three years (since original gamma/beta) and my biggest ship is an underused Python. I have no Elite ranks and I am Chief Petty Officer in the Fed Navy and Baron in the Empire Navy. But I am in no rush to get higher at the moment.

These ships are meant to take a long time to get and to fully A-Grade them, they can be used perfectly fine when not fully A-Graded. The issue I see here is that you are more involved in the end product instead of the journey, but that is up to you. I don't and won't grind for anything, no matter how much I want something.

Again it looks like the goal is more inportant then the journey. What will you do with your A-rated corvette? The exact same gameplay I can do in my Python and most of it I can do in my Cobra Mk3. Not including PvP.

I also have a family and full time job and lucky to get 1-3 hours of gaming a week in.

Again, why are you grinding for something that at the end of the day will give you the same gameplay with the ships you already have?

That is your choice. The game does not force that on you. These are your goals and you have chosen to chase after them in a specific manor.

There are a lot of missions that pay over a million credit, most seem to from my experience. I am also happy for there to be high rewarding missions as long as the difficulty is upped considerably. Like doing trade missions to anarchy systems where the chances of interdiction and ship destruction are high.

Get good rep with a factions and most mission will pay good money, especially passanger missions.

This all depends on what you think is high paying. Anything over a million credits is in my view is high paying.

I have never used an exploit of glitch either. I just seem to find getting credits extremely easy.

Wow, how utterly condescending of you. Dude was asking for help and went through great pains to qualify the asking, he didn't want exploits or cheats but was looking for ways to more efficiently make money, just some "breadcrumbs" to follow even. In your OP, which is what caught his attention, you said you were turning down missions because they paid too much, now you say anything over a million credits is "high paying"(that makes no sense). Instead of actually trying to help a player who asked, you one upped him about how long you've been playing ED, then you took the time to point by point continue to one-up him and/or critique his playstyle and approach to the game. Bruh. That is the very definition of someone who loves the smell of their own farts. Just, ugh man, just don't anymore please.

How to make money in Elite Dangerous:

Don't post videos about making money to the internet where a-person-with-a-name-similar-to-that-Carl-Sagan-book-that-was-then-turned-into-a-13-part-television-series can see it.

I agree completely and i never ever open this kind of threads. My main concern about it was the closing of the previous thread in one minute, thats why i carefully wrote this one, which is essentially the same, to see if it gets also closed. It didnt, just as i expected. At least this one allready lasted for more than a minute.

The joke is Cosmo put it as Severe. How on earth is it a severe bug by any stretch? Is it game breaking? Does it even make the game hard to play?

I'm always careful with bug reports, and I'm surprised someone who considers themselves such a Savior of the ED community would be so flippant.

But yes OP, as the OP of the vid said, this is challanging and it's using the SRV. I don't see the issue.

I know right? And still not an official word about the closing of the other thread. I just would like to be pointed to the bug, because i dont see it.

I never said I had turned down missions. That was someone else.

I also gave hints as to what is needed: high rep with a faction.

I am completely unsure what I said was condescending, just giving my point of view, or is that not allowed on a discussion forum?

So you think 1 million credits in ten minutes of play is a small amount? Seems like a huge amount to me. That's 6 million credits an hour. Or do you think it should be in the 100's of millions an hour, basically removing all risk from the game?

As to critiqueing the gameplay, the poster is the one that bought it up, including how much they play etc etc etc. Why bring it up if it is not open to discussion?

As to someone who enjoys the smell of their own farts, maybe you should be looking in the mirror.

Well there are now cargo missions offering 50 million per 180 tonne, have the devs actually said anything about upper limit payouts that don't involve mode switching or bypassing game mechanics?

I've become allied with most of the systems around Rhea and have never seen a delivery come close to this. Perhaps I'm just looking in the wrong areas?

Probably best not to poke the Bear.

I'd suggest contacting Brett to discuss if you feel it should be reopened.
