I run a couple of 24" 1920x1080 either side of a 30" 2560x1600. Tbh I only bothered running it across all 3 once and it wasn't pretty on the main screen, don't see the point.
What gfx card are you using?

For 3 monitor eyefinity on AMD/ATI cards one of the monitors must be connected to a display port, having 3 monitors working on DVI/Hdmi outputs isnt possible. Do your homework.
Whoa! Sorry for asking! Geeez!
FWIW I did do my homework.
1) I know what my friend has.
2) I read up about it, in case I was remembering wrong. It is indeed possible to do this on nVidia cards, and also on the newest ATI cards.
So in essence, you don't have to use a display port, if your card is nVidia or a newer ATI with identical monitors. OP didn't write what card he has, you didn't say anything about the multiple exceptions.
