300 Million credits an hour in Taygeta system

Do pirate massacres actually work now? I tried one about 2 years ago and it sent me to a system with no mission targets to be found. Never tried again because of the faction reputation hit for having to drop the mission.
That was probably an infected ships mission, which only happens in outbreak, and is still broken

Pirate massacres have worked for at least 2 if not longer.

It was a pirate massacre mission. I went to the target system and flew around for a bit, didn’t find any targets in supercruise or the nav beacon. Went with my instincts and perused the various RESs in the system. Plenty of pirates, but none that counted. Gave up after a few hours.

This was before the FSS so it may have been longer ago.

Prior to that, I had accepted a spec ops contract from my minor faction that called for civilians. Again, no e were found in the target system.

If memory serves, there was a brief moment when they were all broken, but that got fixed, except for massacre infected ships, which is still broken, and massacre deserters, which is arguably fixed, but dramatically harder, since everyone ganks on-entry to the system.

You want to hit up the mission USS really, rather than res or supercruise.

I think I remember some snippet in patch notes ages ago about a fix, but I was pretty wary of any of FDev’s “fixes” at the time (I still haven’t tried NPC crew recovery because I’m not sure if it’s buggy or not).

I’ll try the USS approach. I’m assuming the FSS makes that quite a bit easier than the old days of meandering aimlessly for half an hour.

Just drop out at the nav beacon and scan it. .. it will identify all USS in the system, including mission ones.

(Oh yeah, USS aren't like they used to be, of we're talking 2 years ago)

Yeah I got months of use out of the FSS before I went on hiatus, but not much as far as mission-tied USSs.

I feel like using colorful language at the op. 2 days. It was available from day 1. Well he got noticed thats for sure.

I hate it when people have to learn life lessons at the expense of others.

Well. how much did you all make?

I did 3 billion over a few days without breaking a sweat :p
I've been considering putting out a hit on him with some ganking squadrons I know.

Yeah just checked. Absolutely nerfed.

Well at least hedging my bets paid off.

9 years of upkeep over 2 accounts.

The op wins the title of "that guy". My congratulations again, you won the internet.

Posting here so everyone can enjoy the credit fest; here's an explanation for it from the one that discovered it:

I still think the egg was a better exploit, wasn't it ? I won't participate on this, bounty hunting is as fun as lucrative those days.
Nurf inbound...

the op ruined evryones fun. there was another nerf after nerf after nerf, cargo deliveries now offer not 400-500k but 90-250k maximum i seen now. .. goal of fdevs is to make us grind 30000 hours for fleetcarrier and 9000 hours for anaconda.

i have done some comparing missions and bountyhunting with one hour activity and results are really shocking. especially for newbies.

first thing newbies often go for most popular ship cobra mk 3 as mission boat or viper for high res site bounty hunting, cobra works in bounty hunt too but here it goes.

32-45 cargo cobra mk 3 will do 3-4 low volume cargo missions or two medium volume cargo missions and also can pick cargo-free courier missions..
entire hour of the mission grinding will give around 550k for cobra pilot.

64 cargo asp explorer will do 950k / 1million 100-300k per hour. with couple medium volume cargo missions,he can take like 4 of them.

now we put same cobra mk3 or asp explorer in high res sites and they focus on tasty wanted ships like pythons anacondas cutters dropships etc.
one hour of bountyhunting in high res site will give....up to 10 millions per hour.

i dont count mining activity, only comparing missions to bountyhunting.

They way I see this is that all that nerfing created massive imbalance in the player base. We have multibillioners with multiple accounts and multiple FCs and we have new player coming here and seeing nerf after nerf and his/her progress in the game being slowed down to near stand still. How is this any factor that should bring new players to ED??

Well no, I don't like sudden unexpected changes but credit earning these days is huge compared to a couple of years ago. When I started playing a mission paying over half a million was very rare and a nice find. Don't worry, another gold rush will be along soon.

So guys i found a really good way to make credits on elite, lets go tell everyone oppose to keeping quiet about it.

Well, they do get fixed faster this way.

I used to file detailed bug reports on any "gold rush" I came across that didn't already seem to be widely known.

It's almost like they don't want anymore carriers in the game.

I dread the day the my CMDR's cash on hand exceeds five billion CR and I have forgotten how obnoxious it was to use them in the beta.

I'll make a sticky note saying "do not buy an FC, irrespective of credit balance" to put next to the one that says "stop buying the cutter, you hate flying it, and it never pays itself off before you get enraged and sell it". That should work until they get lost again!

These fools actually want us to play the game for 5,000 hours just to buy a fleet carrier.

Longer, honestly.

I would be entirely content if my CMDR could never afford a fleet carrier, because it required more work than I was willing to put in for one (which is virtually none).

Could you imagine actually playing for 1,000 hours just to get a fully upgraded corvette?

I had about 2000 hours on my CMDR before he could afford a corvette.

They have no life outside of this game.

Well, I do, it's just that I functionally retired in my mid-20s and have no obligations.

I have no life outside of the game either tbh but I also have a job would like to not have elite become a second job I'm not being paid to do.
