Nice idea, we are already trying to do it. Spread the word using http://elite-dangerous.wikia.com/wiki/Elite:_Dangerous_FAQ, Newsletters, DDF Archive, and mostly I look for misunderstandings about ED, because people lack knowledge about Elite and FE2 and FFE, and we need to correct that

Haha, you could try that if you like - I was thinking facepoke, twotter, roddit and other game forums and, if anyone has the connections, news sites (someone at the BBC seemed to like ED during the KS).

I started a thread on AnandTech. What we need is some more marketing materials. FD videos please, if you can put together one of the ships that are available like an advert or something from a manufacturer. We need to sell the sizzle first then we can underpin that with the background, history, pedigree etc... I suppose FD have their own marketing time-table which will coincide with the scheduled release date in spring.

December to January could see a big influx of new backers if the alpha and beta footage is impressive and gets spread far and wide via social media.
The capital ship video did wonders and brought a lot of interest over from the Star Citizen forums when it was posted there.

It's not just about getting attention, it's about keeping it too. Like any kind of campaign it's about maintaining a level of interest, drip feeding information at the right time, such as the videos etc. I think FD are doing a pretty good job to be honest, and the capital ship video was a home run. If that had been around at the start of the Kickstarter who knows how much money would have raised!
