3rd DLC Pack Discussion - What region do you think it will cover? When do you see it releasing?

...What about a season pass with animals for example?...

They really need to do something to keep the game alive besides the core gamers. Especially cause it isnt a beginner-friendly casual game. There will always be a base of players playing it (like us). But they need to keep the game interesting. And this lack of content for months now...

I think 3-4 months between releases is the norm but I know what you mean.

Here is a suggestion I made for more frequent content releases which I think would be great.

It would be great if they would do it like before the Game was released and share more Stuff with the Community. For example they could share Pictures of some Variations they are working on, and maybe talk about which Bug Fixes are currently worked on instead of doing only a few Social Media Posts that aren't very exciting

They’re still kind of on track aren’t they? That said, I feel like Frontier (and every game company) would do so well to just give us little “weekly recaps” or something. Just things like screenshots of coat variation WIPs, or why some bugs are taking a while to fix (like Chante’s message about the complications of hot boxes, which was wonderful). Something that lets us see the other side and understand that things are happening and why they take time. There are so many approaches to take (blog posts, Twitter, insta stories, YouTube, quickly posting here) that would break down the barrier between “us” and “them”. The thing I do love is that Frontier is always listening and working to help us, so imagine how great it would be to have these little check ins!

I don’t play many games (literally only Planet Zoo, Jurassic World Evolution and Sims 4, and I own Planet Coaster but haven’t played much). I loved when I was a kid and expansion packs came out with so much content, but I feel like they were months to years apart. And that was ok, because I appreciated what I had to work with and knew that more would come. I would personally prefer high prices, lots of content and a longer wait, but to me the release of smaller DLC packs every 3-4 months is insanely quick and regular! Maybe it’s because I play nothing but Frontier and the Sims, but I feel like this game is well supported for content and updates, and I’m (sort of) patiently waiting for what I know will be a great pack and a massive update to Planet Zoo. I do hope it’s announced this week though!

Seeing how many (and which ones) people suggest and request this game really needs some more content.

But to be honest at the moment it feels like nothing will come anymore. You dont hear anything around the game and even the community support around Chante, Bo, Jens and Paul got pretty quiet.

Im really looking forward to some new content soon. The game and players desperately need some fresh input.

I mean it seems consensus that everyone thinks it will release in August (4 months after the last dlc) You're easily the only person I've seen who says it feels like nothing will come anymore.

Glad you mentioned "every game company" because my experience is exactly this. Only few game companies provide WIPs, mostly because they rely on the online aspect of their game or are an early access title.
I've seen some backlash when other devs announce WIP and eventually don't add the feature or replace it with something else - which happens quite often.

If they show variations for lions, bears, zebras, tigers and not for wolves (or any other species) - people will constantly ask about the other species. If you don't respond to that, people could consider this as bad communication as well.
And some people would complain about coat variations because they don't care about those and want to see other WIPs.
I think there are 2 sides to this. Sometimes not showing/not communicating is more effective and for some people WIP screenshots are more effective.

Personally I like surprises and don't like WIP screenshots that much. Too much info would somewhat ruin the experience for me.

I don't mind any of these options : "Big DLC/higher price/1 year waiting period" vs "Smaller DLC/lower price/3-4 months waiting period"
Business wise the smaller DLC packs are more effective in keeping everyone interested. DLC every 3-4 months is quick (especially compared to a lot of games).

Firaxis released something like this a few months ago for their game Civilization 6 - every two months youll receive 1-2 new civilizations and some other smaller stuff for one year. The price was pretty rough (39,99 €), but what about such an idea for planet zoo? every 2 months 1-2 animals.
Firaxis basically gave the finger to their loyal community. You even have to buy 2 extra expansions 39,99 and 29,99 to fully use the season pass with its features. Really a bad move.
(Could've been an EA move :p). And a lot of people aren't happy with the content at all. So paying a season pass and getting less interesting animals could happen. At least now you can choose to skip a DLC.

I would love to see a bigger species diversity of exibit animals.
Lack of small tropical birds, small primates, rodents, fish, small cats, small carnivore mammals or simply just fish is just frustrating.
Especially that the possibilities are just basically endless.
