SO there's been 19 free updates and just 2 dlcs. If you're going by updates, and I have NO idea why you would.

I believe they are speaking of major updates: 1.1 & 1.2. The assumption being 1.3 coincides with the day the next DLC is released.
I'm pretty sure it's obvious from context I'm talking about the major .1, .2 updates, of which there have been two. With two dlcs. The correlation is clear that 1.3 announcement will also mean a dlc announcement days later. Not sure why you responded the way you did, but as post above me shows, it is clear what I was talking about. This correlation also exists with JWE and PC. Now if they announce 1.3 and it releases the next week or following is unclear, but I am sure there is a pattern to big updates announcements and the release schedule if I looked into it.
Yeah, it was fairly obvious, and the need to reply that way was not really warranted. If there wasn’t an understanding, a simple question for clarification would have sufficed.
Either way, I’m hoping for something in the next few weeks...have been distant with the game for about a month now. Hoping for coat variations soon as I think that may be a bigger reason to return than any DLC could be.
I just had a point I wanted to make, there is no way to know how many smaller updates each major update will get, so you would have no idea when the fourth major update is out.Since they don't follow a regular release schedule.
You are just arbitraily picking and choosing an update that just coincidentally released 10 days before the last dlc, there was no logic behind it.
Not really arbitrarily no. Releases of DLC's both in PC and PZ generally coincide with the release of a major update. There's a reason why it's 1.1 and 1.2; those are major releases; so these were not randomly picked
I agree. While I understand that coat variations take time, on this and every front it's been too quiet.
I know it's typical Frontier, but I'm not a fan of the "say nothing for weeks and month and then just release something, react to feedback for three days and disappear again."
Agreed. I am much more excited for the free update 1.3 that will coincide with whatever DLC we get, even if coat variants aren’t quite done, though I’d be disappointed a bit.
I’m excited for the DLC no matter the region or content. Hoping for a few more animals from Australia(if that’s what it is) than prior DLC’s, but that’s wishful thinking.
Either way, whatever day they release update 1.3 with the DLC will be the day I return. Hoping early August. Time will be hard to come by late August.
I totally feel that. To be honest, though I'm looking forward to a new DLC and will buy it, I'm 100% sure it will be just because I want all things Planet Zoo, but not because the DLC will knock me out of my socks. The South America pack was way too much of a let down to me, covering only just 5 animals. And even if all the feedback is considered, there simply can't be any changes made to the DLC concept yet. Things are planned way in advance.
I don't think we will get it, but I'd prefere a semi-aquatic DLC with california sea lions and such, just because it would bring a new level to the game. A much needed plottwist that might bring a lot of people back.
Seeing how many (and which ones) people suggest and request this game really needs some more content.

I think that’s a rather extreme conclusion to come to. Not least because we know a DLC is coming due to activity that has been noted on the steam database: https://steamdb.info/app/703080/
@Fortunanovesia Bo may no longer be with frontier as I heard on YouTube video she was moving on to something else. As far as dlc goes I’m not to worried as like Markun mentioned there’s proof it’s in development. Just takes time that’s all.
thats true. But the way they treat the game at the moment makes me kinda feel like this. Like JWE last year. You didnt hear anything about months then the Jurassic Park DLC came and thats it. Game done, support finished.
But when i see how much potential theres still in this game its kinda sad the devs dont seem to use it. Ofc it must profitable for frontier, but for me it doesnt seem like the players would struggle with it when the content is good. What about a season pass with animals for example?
Firaxis released something like this a few months ago for their game Civilization 6 - every two months youll receive 1-2 new civilizations and some other smaller stuff for one year. The price was pretty rough (39,99 €), but what about such an idea for planet zoo? every 2 months 1-2 animals.
They really need to do something to keep the game alive besides the core gamers. Especially cause it isnt a beginner-friendly casual game. There will always be a base of players playing it (like us). But they need to keep the game interesting. And this lack of content for months now...

Yeah Planco was the same way. Both jwe and Planco are both probably done honestly. This game should have another yr and a half to two more yrs support. Hopefully covid19 hasn’t affected that too much as I’m sure it’s delayed somethings but I think will still get solid support for this game.
