I like your style, anyways, that doesn't change significantly the estimate, I wasn't even considering unreported 5 body systems or the amount of systems registered outside of EDSM.

*even more pedantic mode* "locked" on EDSM refers to the coordinates of the system having been locked because they have been confirmed by two independent pilots, not that the system itself is permit restricted - if anything they're more likely to have some body data present */off*

As for ringed ELWs, those are going to be measured in the low tens of millions. They make up 1.8% of those in the List of Earth Like Worlds so if we assume that the true measure is more like 1.5% (since people are more likely to report ringed examples) and 1 in 200 systems contains an ELW (guestimate but probably not far off for totally random systems) then we are looking at 400 billion / 200 * 0.015 = 30 million ringed ELWs.

Fair enough, I'll try to take a screenshot whenever i see one next. Guess i've just been really unlucky with ringed ELW then, not a single on in my 20,000+ systems.

I wouldn't feel too bad, I think I've hit all of 2 in my 8600+5200 systems (I have two pilots).

This, is definitely a point to consider. I could have past by a hundred and wouldn't be able to tell you.

I do the opposite, is there an interesting body in the system that isn't am EW or WW, lets go and look at that, it probably explains why I'm still not elite in exploration. I recently saw a 4 body example, but no 5 bodies that I can recall.
