Modes 5 minutes in Open...

Yeah same, that's not to say there isn't a lot of mindless killers in Open, have seen a lot of attacks on players first hand. It is just down to bad luck.
I used to say that the mindless ones were rare, but lately it seems to happen every time I log on. Which is less than once a week, but the last half a dozen times I have been on-line, I have been attacked without reason, other than I am there; to be attacked. No power play and not doing any CGs etc. Logically, it is because I am in the Pladies area, which is popular at this time, but all I am doing is feeding the occasional Thargoid, a few humans, every now and them. So I just don't understand why people would have any issues and want to kill me. The think I really hate with the whole; your my next pew pew target; is the lack of dialogue.

Note: I said attacked; not always killed. Plus, I will automatically block any attackers, through the chat window. Not sure how affective this is, but don't seem to meet them twice.

Solo: Predictable behavior of random ship types
Private Group: Predictable behavior of every random ship type except the 2 or 3 in your group
Mobius: Other than lack of murder, unpredictable behavior of many random ship types
Open: Predictable behavior of random ship types (ganking, griefing, pad campers, mine poopers, anything to block you from enjoying the game)
You've got Mobius and Open confused.

Mobius: Predictable behaviour of random ships (everybody holding hands singing "kumbaya")
Open: Unpredictable behaviour of many random ships (you never know if the next CMDR you see will say hi, say nothing, attack you or whether they'll help save you or help kill you.)

Pleiades is just one massive CG now, plenty off truckers out there, so you'll get a higher amount of Cmdrs that murder in the name of piracy, or as I read somewhere 'making a stand against those helping Aegis'

Maybe in your corner of the multi-verse, but that's not how it 'works' in mine fortunately. Open is sad joke IMO, and better left to social butterflys and sociopaths. But then I could same the same about pretty much any of the MMO type games.

So you always say mate. But if you never play in it, then your experience of it is extremely limited.
You always pull out the butterflies and sociopaths thing, but that could be applied to any social activity, raving, festivals, parities, anything.
Unless you are extremely uncomfortable around people, you should maybe try and step outside of your comfort zone and harden up a little when it comes to interacting with others.

It's a free forum. Might want to tell it to the person I quoted though if you really feel like playing thread police today.

P.S. How exactly is anything I said Hotel California btw?

Probably the kumbaya comment. Although kinda true, as an Open player vet, I actually prefer the kumbaya vibe in Mobius, get's a little tiring having to look over your shoulder every five minutes, fly wide arcs to stations, jump asap if en-route and you see an FDL drop out at the star next to you.

Thing with Open is that 95% of the players are cool, but you have to be paranoid to survive due to the 5% of sociopaths

Probably I should have. You were both doing the open Vs mobius Vs private Vs solo dance. Apologies that I quoted just you.

The biggest question is why were you killed in 4 sec. Outfit your damn ship properly, how hard is it. Its wild west out there, people will slaughter you for sport, dont you want to protect yourself at least until highwaking?

Laksak... on the way to pick up phosphorus for my C5 shields which I'm trying to engineer for a type 9.

I did have two commanders o7 me as soon as I left the station... Which was nice.

I've decided that if I'm in a ship with less than 1m rebuy, I'll play in open only.

Gotta be wary in any "hotspots" mate. This'll include CGs, Shinrarta, engineer systems, Sol, Maia, and a handful of other notable areas.

During this time try not to bring ships that have no defenses, try not to take direct routes anywhere, and be prepared for a quick getaway.

Outside these areas still be wary but you can generally expect not to run into another CMDR at all.

There's no "requirements" other than learning basic escape and outfitting techniques, but alternatively if you do want to actually git gud and actually shut the odd attacker up, feel free to add me in-game as CMDR StiTch! or join up with the GCI for some tips and practice.

This I disagree with. This IS the same attitude, as the get good sentiments. Agreed, running shield-less and being greedy for profits, is 'asking' for a quick death, but running even a combat fitted Cobra, only gives you seconds, against the engineered Annies and FDLs, that most of these idiots seem to play. You are saying, grind credits and get a powerful ship, grind some more for the right modules and then grind even more and hope for some god rolls with the engineers. During all of this time, grind combat skills and of course, get gud.

I have been killed in my Cobra many times under 12 seconds, by Commanders. I know it is about that amount of time, because that is about the maximum I need to get it to high wake.

For the first time in over two years I play in open with my main account...

Very first supercruise. Interdicted by a ferdelance whom shall remain unnamed.
I had no cargo, was in a lightly fitted asp.
No chat, no RP just instant death with beams and PA.
went from 4km to about 500m distance less than 10 seconds, so super engineered.

luckly less than 1m rebuy.

5 minutes.

Real Nice.
Sorry Op, but you are either willing to learn where is dangerous space (not so difficult) and how prepare yours ship & know escape techniques OR stay out of Open. You went into Open unprepared, and now complain about your mistake. You easily could laugh on hostile cmdr attack if you were properly prepared.

Go on then, let's hear it...

How is somebody collecting phosphorous off a planet's surface "somebody else's business"?
It is not and i don't care. I am minding my own business by playing the game the way i want within the framework of its rules.
You can mind your own business collecting stuff as much as i can mind my own business killing anything i want no matter the reasons.

I'm sure we're all aware that there's a risk of attack in Open but, as usual, don't pee on my leg and tell me it's raining.
Why do we have such thread then ? Do what i say not what i do amarite ?

I was playing Escape from Tarkov today...I went onto Factory knowing the risks but got killed by a better gear'd player in less than 3 minutes.

Funny I spent 20 minutes in PUBG then some other player had the audacity to kill me. Still I made top 10 :D
