500,000 Free ARX for LEP owner's

Fdev never called it an investment or sold it as such. Thats always been the work of the factually challenged

LEP's don't even save you money since all video games drop in price over time.

Yep. I've said it before, I get the feeling that all those LEP discussions aren't really about the money. It's just another way to cry "I want more content!!". Maybe just to mix it up a bit, dunno.

There was a great thread about the forums being the actual game some time ago. That the lack of content in Elite actually generated content on the forums (the real game) via all these, uh, impassioned threads and posters. Food for thought.

Speaking for myself and my two friends who also got LEPs, we have long accepted that we were treated unfairly (but legally), ignored unless we said something, and have moved on to just being sad that no-one in what's left of the community is getting any content. There's no need to mock us in threads like these, call us entitled, regurgitate all the weaselly legal technicalities or teach us mathematics. Frontier's inability to give lepers even a token extra Arx or module storage or extra beta time ultimately hurts them and their reputation - there may come a time when they'll want to sell another upfront product and this saga might come back to haunt them.

"Don't call us entitled, we just aren't getting extra special treatment which is unfair."

Okie doke.

No need for FD to give further sweetners, they just need to concentrate on getting the expansion done so that all players can enjoy it (and buy it if they've not already).

It would be interesting to see what would happen if FD did an about face and offered a 75% refund on all LEP's (no good offering 100% refund as good have been received, even if they are only cosmetics). I wonder how many would take up the offer, knowing that there is a DLC due soonish that will not be free?

The amount of unredeemed value varies by customer but essentially you describe what I am asking for. I will almost certainly buy any DLC that is released anyway, I'm just not happy to be kept in the dark for so long.

Regarding being kept in the dark, that is very subjective. Why should you, or me, or anyone be kept informed. We don't have any say in what FD produces, what they develop, or even the direction they take the game. All we can do is vote with our feet (real ones, not cyber ones) if we are not happy. I have said this previously, what happens to your carefully constructed rage if FD tell you what they have planned and you don't agree with it? Will you quit the game in disgust, even though you have nearly a year to play before the changes come in? Will you hang around until the DLC drops then quit? Will you decide to give the DLC a go?

I'm not speaking on behalf of anyone but myself, and anyone happy with their LEP for any reason would not be affected by my desire to revert to a regular Horizons account because of my personal expectations. There is no rage from me.

Give them a refund of less than the cost of the new DLC, so if they do opt back in after all the griping they have to pay extra.

Why would the refund amount be related to the cost of the new DLC at all?

I've paid about £80 more than an equivalent Horizons (beta) account owner, but so far have no more game for that extra money. So reverting to a Horizons (beta) account & getting that extra back is a straightforward transaction. The only obstacle is that any company would rather add value than just give out straight cash, which the OP attempts to address.

So if I were to be refunded that extra ~£80 and then at the end of 2020 a second premium expansion is announced for £100 say, that's fine. No different to what anyone else (without an LEP) would pay.
