So, getting back into the game after a year, I've been working on Engineer reputation. And – not being much of an explorer – meeting Professor Palin's requirement of a 5,000 ly journey has required some dedicated time. I considered a 'throwaway' Asp, hitting 40-45 ly jump range and self-destructing once I hit the target, but decided to play it fair. Took my Clipper out (24.99 ly jump range semi-Engineered) and took a passenger mission to the Patchwork Plains about 6,000 ly away.
3,550 ly out, I'm in this situation:

Wredgaei CH-C C13-1. And... so I've read about shorter jump ranges being fine for exploring the galaxy. But every route I try to plot even vaguely toward my destination has failed. 1,000 ly routes, 500, 300... I've spent maybe an hour just trying to find a route through and nothing's working.
Can any explorers suggest where I've gone wrong? Is this a known location that's just difficult/impossible to reach with only a 25 ly jump range? Is my mistake leaving the Orion-Cygnus Arm? With the destination itself being off the spiral arm I figured I was fine, but I guess I could backtrack and try a horseshoe-shaped route. Or is it something else?
Hope nobody has a problem with me asking, but after ten hours of flying and then fighting with route plotting for an hour, I'm just about ready to throw my monitor out the window (or self-destruct and sod Palin, the passenger and the exploration data) if I can't see a glimmer of hope.
