75 FPS with 4x DSR running in ULTRA

Hi
Anyone even able to achieve this in DK2?
I mean absolutely no drop in FPS from 75FPS

There is definitely judder caused by the net code or something engine related o I don't expect a totally judder free experience even if you can achieve this, just trying to find out what setup will do it.

Was thinking crossfire Radeon R9 295x2 would do it but this card seems to have many crossfire issues and also with the OR.
2 x 980gtx won't achieve this I don't think as another member here has tho setup and can't get 75fps on DSR 4

How does one enable the DSR option for this game only? I added "elitedangerous32.exe" to the Nvidia control panel but there's not program-specific option. Is it a global option only? Thanks!

Err nope.
I SS the image, use mid quality settings, blur off, vsync off, max out AA on a single plait super jet stream 980.

I think I have textures maxed as well.

Looks fantastic.

The DSR options are already there in my Settings-Graphics in the game.. no need to do anything extra.

I've just built a £3.5k system for my business and can't acheive Ultra @ 4x DSR without stuttering in stations. Frame rate drops to 45-50 fps, which almost caused me to throw up while looking around.

My specs are:
Intel 5960X Extreme @ 4.4GHz
32GB Corsair Vengeance DDR4
2x Asus GTX 980 Strix (SLI)
2x Samsung 850 Pro SSD (RAID)

So... I'm either doing something wrong, or there's really not much benefit to be gained by chucking money at the problem. I'm hoping for optimisations from nVidia, but still waiting for the latest driver to play nice with the DK2.

I can just about achieve 1440p, but it does drop sometimes which is nauseating. I prefer to sacrifice quality for 100% smoothness - changing the UI colour to green/blue hues helps with the text, so I'm less upset by the lack of visual fidelity now. I've kinda got used to it!

I reckon that people who claim to achieve a solid 75 FPS everywhere @ 4k using a single card are talking utter rubbish :)

huh that's odd.
my machine does the same frame rate.
a 4770k with one gtx760-4gig and 16gig at 1866
and it does that without over clocking the cpu

something most definitely most be wrong here.

Yeah, my system is definitely capable of pulling a better frame-rate; the cooling fans on the twin GPU's barely spin up when playing Dangerous.

I think there's quite a lot of room for optimising the Rift & Elite (4k monitor rarely drops below 90fps), just waiting for nVidia to release some goodies!

OK, I do have bad eye-sight but I'm not blind. After looking through the video options I still do not see the setting for DSR; is it hidden somewhere?

In the game DSR is not seen as a "DSR option", it is simply that you will see higher resolution options than your monitor/Rift can display.

Those are only visible when you have enabled DSR in Nvidia Control Panel. Here's how you do it, although you don't have to use Geforce Experience. After enabling DSR in Nvidia CP, the resolutions will be available in game settings.

I'm now running 2 x msi gaming gtx 980s and im still getting stuttering in certain areas such as the larger stations.

I definitely think some is due to more optimisations needed because it doesn't seem constant.
I do know that I would rather now play in 4x DSR and have the odd stutter than play at a lower res.
Theres quite a lot of difference to the game quality in x4 from the DK2 native res.

An OC might help also of course. Anyone know of a good place to benchmark elite?

That is weird, I am getting a steady 90-100 FPS with Tri-SLI 980s, 16GB Ram and a 5820K @4K max everything, though I only use DSRx2. I still drop to around 60 FPS in hangars. When I turn DSR off, I am running 80ish FPS though.

Do you suffer that in all stations, or just the top end "luxury" stations (the ones with parks in the docking bay)?

The reason I ask is I run at 2715x1527 oversampled (the equivalent of x2 DSR), all other settings are high (not ultra), except for shadows - set to low, my specs are at the bottom of my sig. I see framerate drop in the most detailed stations and in particularly crowded asteroid fields but not elsewhere.

Your system is far beyond my spec, I'm wondering why you're experiencing such relatively poor performance?

I can get 1440p with every graphic option on max except no antialiasing, I don't know how to display the framerate in the Rift but it feels like solid 75fps, except sometimes in stations where I get some minor stutter. I'm pretty satisfied with this performance, and eagerly waiting for further rift optimization in ED and Nvidia's VR SLI to see how far I can push things.

2x GTX 970, i7 4790k stock, 16GB RAM.

Too many Netcode/asset loading issues to maintain 75fps at all locations. when the code has been fully optimised, maybe it'll be possible.
