A emerging threat to PVP community standards - the ace mamba build.

HI guys and gals , its me Vampire , hope your holidays this time of year are going well.
I would like to bring up a subject that is rising to my attention , considering the fact that nobody knows the landscape as well as i do in the world of pvp , with respect to the time and hours I am in game.
There seems to be a growing threat to the standards of pvp as a whole in general . My philosophy regarding pvp is , it should be something based on common mutual grounds. Good sportsmanship , a fair and even fight regarding ship size and your opponents , and more specifically , the use of gimballed vs fixed weapons.
Now we can all say that , each is own , game play however you see fit , and if you cant beat it , get gud or better , adapt and adjust. Now one of the biggest lessons I have learned in my gaming past is , the teams that can learn how to adapt the fastest to a emerging threat , are the winners. This is true . Regardless , how it reflects on this game , in my opinion , is much different. I believe in the game of Elite Dangerous , especially for us xbox players who do not have the ability to fall back on third party programs to assist us in the ability to obtain godlike status for in game mechanics , we must up hold higher standards. This includes what type of weapons we use. Gimballed , turrented weapons are taxed via the amount of damage they do , which is the case , but they still offer enough damage that it can be a game changer due to the right circumstances not limited to , lag , frame rate , instance being jammed up by a full instance and inducing screen lag , being close to stations also introduces this. That alone effects how effective a weapon can be , especially in a circumstance when a fixed weapon is at play. In my honest opinion , the challenge , the skill needed to use a fixed weapon like a hit scan one such as a rail gun , or a plasma accelerator , brings necessary skill and challenge pvp should require to claim victory over your opponent , not a tracking mechanism thats assisting you.
There is a rapid increase of a certain build , very rapid. There is a skilled individual , that is well known in the pvp community that has crafted a build that necessarily does not reflect his ability but from a technical stand point does make sense in viability when you are in a bogged down instance where the frame rate is slow. This build is called the AceMamba build. It utilizes several different aspects to make it almost impossible to tackle. It has on its huge hp a burst or pulse laser , along with the two small hp. On the two large it uses two seeker missiles. Now , this is how it goes.
When you take fa off and toggle the thruster , automatically due to the mambas high speed , pitch and yaw rate , it becomes almost impossible to hit , even with hit scan weapons in a high traffic instance. Then , the lasers will lower your opponents shields faster than a kinetic based weapon , and being gimballed , no use for having to maintain a reticule lock head on . Once their shields are down you use the seekers to knock out whatever modules you see fit. Its a win win scenario .
The biggest issue here is , it technically exploits the problem with elite. When in wings , the instance becomes jammed up and a ship like this becomes impossible to deal with . Then second , guys and gals .... where are the standards within the pvp community to hold high and say , when I win , I can hold my head up high and say I accomplished this through hard work and determination of practice and time , which has gotten me here. All that is down the tubes...in my opinion again , the xbox community needs to hold themselves UP to higher standards than pc players , due to the tools that are widely used but no one talks about. I will post a link to this build incase you are not aware of it.

While i sort of agree with some of your points Vamp I'm not necessarily seeing any great threat from this build. I've faught a bunch of them recently and done ok.

After a six month break I'm basically crap and getting crappier.

That being said i still won three successive bouts against two slightly different versions of the same basic build.
They are quick so can easily control the range but suffer from very little integrity.
The first bout i won in a frag ram clipper.
The next two i won in a phasing pulse fdl.
Neither of these ships would pass your "higher principles" test but the truth is you just have to be adaptable when figuring out what tool to use for a particular job.

Whether people are using this build specifically to gain advantage in a slow frame rate instance is beyond my ability to comment on but for many folk i wouldnt doubt it.

I love a fair fight with fixed weapons but many do not so i can see the appeal.

Wow I had to do a double-take there, are you sure there bud?

I think you might be a little over-enamored with yourself.
Yeah, but it blends in, coming from the guy that presented the ship with his name on invented by his "friend", yeah, right...lol

or a dispersal field flechette :p

The thing is the game is evolving and so are most of its players, this means that the "old skool" pvp is changing as well, new people drop into the game constantly.
most of them will learn the hard way that fixed and time/practise is the way forward, some of them are just looking for some instant action, and this is all good though issen't it ?

so in the long run is't it about the fight in general, personally i dont care who wins or loses (the guy who uses premo does :p) it is still a game after all.

after horizons, engineering came to the game and that gave us so many options to counter basicly everything .

if u stick to these 3 rules for pvp
1 no crimes on
2 no premo's

who really cares about the rest?

i say let em use them gimbals i have my chaff and disp PA :D disco time baby :D

communication is key is most cases, i hang out in shin allot and its always full of friendly people up for friendly pews, and ofcourse some people use builds that are the ultimate salt dispensers but if it fits in the game you can do it as much as you want "blazing your own trail" , just give them a gg and and o7 and on the next...

Let me stop you right there bud. You don’t get to say about sportsmanship when you keep getting coms banned and kicked out of discord servers for dropping the N bomb in chat. Local or private. Also, you keep sending my friends hate mail through discord and XB DM’s so that’s prolly why you have a current temp ban.

stop the charade, everyone can see right through you.

The fact is that this a game with a set of tools and you, based on your own sense of fairplay, use rhetoric to limit what should or shouldnt be used in pvp.

This is wrong. Youre trying to limit what people use which will only result in stagnation. Telling people what they MUST use in pvp is why pvp in other games are BORING. Do you want that for ED?

Youre also telling would be players how they should fight. If everyone is ONLY using fixed weapons, then there are only a handful of ships able to used fixed effectively. This makes other ships unusable because they just CANT keep their nose on target. Without turrets or gimballed, those ships are useless beyond pve.

Lastly, I know strategic arguing when i see it. Making your enemies fight the way YOU want them to is the first step to victory. Honestly, i just think you want to make harder for people to hit you so you can continue trolling them by shooting out their trusters and high waking away.

I use seeker missiles.

People tell me I'm bad because they are "easy mode".

I laugh as I destroy the engines on a player's Type-6 with seeker missiles and then leave their ship drifting through space without knowing how to reboot.

I don't care what people think of me. Which is probably quite apparent by now.

This statement contradicts itself my guy. People who tell others they don't care what they think are definitely interested in making sure they think they don't care.

Vampy, how old are you? Because you look like a child
Hate to break it to you but the rest of that post is packed with irony.

But, whatever keeps you guys scuffling with one another is fine by me. CQC needs a 1v1 mode.

Do you know my mind? No? Didn't think so. XD
