Newcomer / Intro A few more NOOB questions

Just a few guys, plus I know you knowledgable chaps like to talk it up...I noticed my multicannons after constant firing, will show overheating signs but there isn't an overheating bar to signify when this will occur. Can they actually overheat like plasma weps and does this damage them? Second, how do the ranking systems work? Is the combat rank based on kills or the equipment I have on the ship? Lastly, when in supercruise and playing with my throttle, I notice the tick mark turns blue in certain spots, what is this? Thanks all for whatever feedback you can give.

Edit: I found out what the blue color is. Nevermind that.

1) Multicannons can overheat, just throw a few extra pips into your weaponary.

2) Ranking systems such as combat are based on kills I believe, just as trading with money earned and exploring how much you explore.

3) The blue mark represents the recommended speed.

When at the blue mark of 50% throttle, you will auto slow to the appropriate speed on arrival ready to disengage supercruise under 1Mm.

Also, you maneuver best when your throttle & speed are in the blue area. Good for turn battles or getting around an enemy.
