A game theory analysis of the Aisling Duval kidnapping situation

I'd prefer the Win/Win scenario, since the Princess needs some guidance anyway and my Overlord has all the skills to teach her properly. Plus the overlord would get the girl. :p

I appreciate the support, but I suspect that you misunderstand the title of Overlord. An Overlord does not "get *the* girl"; an Overlord gets *all* girls.

Zarek- you need to learn to put [video] tags around your video so it looks like this

I know. Overlords know all relevant facts.

I posted the video here as a low-profile URL because last time I posted the same video in two threads in full display format on the same day, I received a spamming warning and it was removed.

The "main" forum post for the kidnapping event is here: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showt...ncess-Aisling-Duval-hostage!!!-(Player-Event)

...and the video is posted in full preview-display glory over there.

Do you reckon if enough people believed she was dead, that she would in fact cease to exist? I think so.

What's more believable: a stale, 3 year old photo of the princess, or a live-action video of her recorded yesterday? My footage provides more concrete evidence of the Princess's existence than does a static ship computer user interface image. And my recording of her death will likewise be more convincing than the perpetuation of a stale photo combined with "no comment" from imperial officials on the "rumors" of her death.

OP, you got your win/lose states the wrong way round.

Please, do explain further...

So 4 boxes with a few words in them is "game theory analysis"... wow. I'm sure it's impressive to the people over in the United States of Idiocracy.

I am not just an Overlord of space, I am an Overlord of the truth; I can bend even *truth* to obey my will.

Seeing as how we're just making stuff up now -

I freed the Princess, everything's cool. I am also marrying her, and I'm now Prince Of Space. If 200 pilots come to my wedding bash, everyone gets an Anaconda.

Opinion: It has almost nothing to do with the game theory analysis as it is a purely fabricated matter serving to a different purpose than the game and it has a lot to do with a self-promotion. ;)

Are you suggesting that a galactic Overlord would engage in self-promotion? That's ridiculous!

Seriously, props for the comedy.
Btw, I just looked you up on Inara. Why should we put anyone in charge of the Pilot's Federation who hasn't even hit Elite in a single category?!

How could Napolean Bonaparte or Alexander the Great lead great armies in spite of the fact that they couldn't *personally* out-fight those they led?

Congratulations sir, please consider this my RSVP, what will the dress code be so I can get my tailor to make something suitable?

Dress code is smart/flight suit. Blue hair optional.

EDIT: I wonder if the collar matches the cuffs?

Anacondas? Arissa Lavigny-Duval came over to my place to play poker last night and she was handing out Imperial Cutters to everybody who sat in a hand. Your space waifu needs to step up her game.

Oh, by the way Arissa threw her throne into the pot thinking she had a flush when she really only had a 10-high (she was drinking, we all were) and to make a long story short I am now Emperor. First order of business is making Denton Patreus my bathroom attendant, and after that everybody in the galaxy gets a free Cutter.

You're welcome.

Last time I was at Cubeo I invested some of my stolen Diamonds into a struggling look-a-like talent agency. I made a few changes to the business model and quickly turned it around. These days I can hook you up with a purple headed princess and a dreadlocked pirate freakshow at anytime of the day or night.

Indeed?
Uh I wonder if we could have a quiet word. . .

I put together a game theory analysis of the current Aisling Duval kidnapping situation, illustrated in the following matrix:

It seems to me that the only WIN/WIN scenario we have is the one where I am nominated as the new leader of the Pilot's Federation, and not resisted. In all other cases, someone loses. Given that win-win situations are normally the most desireable, is it not correct that complying with the Overlord's demands is the optimal choice?

Given all the smart people we have in this community, I'm interested to learn your opinions...
Save the girl; kill the kidnapper and we have a win win situation.

This is of course hypothetical of course: As all of this is just a figment of someone's tiny, attention seeking, mind.

Uh, I actually meant the Delaine dude but I can't fault your enthusiasm.

I suspect there would be some fairly serious licensing issues with any pirate Queen lookylikey employees. You know, the type I mean, the sort that usually ends with a hostile takeover.

How about I give you a nekid Grom-gram on the house?

You do know of course that this event is entirely NULL and Void as you have singularly failed to consider hosting it on console, both of them at exactly the same time. No event can be called valid unless there is direct representation given to the console platforms, all at the same time.

So, this event is hereby declared NULLIFIED
