A monthly subscription

Sorry ,I read the suggestion as a subscription only not an either or.
With Arx as it is, you like something you pay for it .
With a subscription some would have expect something every month , and knowing the gamers sense of entitlement would that cause more issues? I've paid for 2 months and there is not thing I like ? Sort of argument.
You can keep some of the people happy some of the time.
My own opinion would be no I don't think a subscription would be suitable.

No, it is closer to earning arx in the game - 400 per week.
You can cumulate, you can buy something from time to time, but it is like.... Patronite or smth like that ;) And for players - some ARX more for the same price than when you buy it from time to time.

For an example - 4 ships per year costs ~66 k ARX, it is 5500 per month, so you can pay 3 GPB monthly to get 5500 ARX, normally for 3 GPB you have 5000 ARX. Of course it is example. It is obvious it needs something to hold players with subscription, and not to turn it on just for have 500 ARX more and off after month, but you know what I mean in general.

You are assuming that everyone buys the ships for early release ? no other Paintjobs ? Or ship kits and you are getting the basic ship.
Pay £3x12 = £36pa = 60,000 arx ( or with your 66k)
Pay £13x2 and 1x£ 9.60= £35.60 =71300 arx

Or just buy 4 stellars at 33000 each which is 132000arx pa
Pay 1x£45 and 2x£9.60=£64.20 = 133000 arxs
Or 10 x£8= £80 pa = 138200 arx

I've tried to get work it out as best as I could using the actual costs and including the bonus arx for paying more . So if I'm wrong please point it out .
The problem sometimes is Arx hides the actual money spent which is why they are arx .

So the plusses for subscription are Fdev get an income guaranteed from everyone but that would only cover the costs for new ships what about new content ?
What happens if I don't like the type 8 or Mandalay or the Corsair ( I happen to like the Cobra mk 5 and the MK2 ) or the Paintjobs or shipkits or content ( I haven't killed a thargoid ) that's not fair I paid for stuff but not getting anything I like ? ( I am being deliberately obtuse) Or it's too hard or takes too long .
Do those who now not pay a subscription get the early access say ? Or new content ? Do we go down the you route where how much you pay depends on what you get ?
Keeping it not subscription based suits me . If I want to buy a ship I will plonk £18 if I have left over that may go towards a paintjob eventually or if I like some something I will buy it . But if it's not great or nothing to see Fdev get nothing and maybe then Fdev see what folk are after and what appeals and work towards that ?
and yes I'm aware you can't please all the people all the time
So as I said before I'm not a fan of subscription ?

The problem with subscriptions at the moment is FDev are in the process of making a whole bunch of stuff obsolete. What would I even get for my money? They're not making enough content to justify it, especially since it's only going to be around £12 for a one off payment for a Corsair with cosmetics. With that, I have everything in the game I could want. I'm certainly not going to be buying cosmetics for my older ships that I'm likely to sell once a future one is released.

It has probably been suggested a heap of times but I would like to put forward, once again most likely, that a monthly subscription be available with some kind of premium attached to it. I used to pay a monthly subscription to ESO and always felt they made it worthwhile. I would love to help continue financing this game as i know it will providing funding for its future improvements and i dont always want to buy the cosmetics that you have available at the time when i am well financed to do so. I like the ship packages I think that is a great idea, maybe subscriptions could accumulate credits in the form of arx wtih some kind of an extra reward for the people happy to pay every month. Love the work you have done. Sorry that you get so much grief from some players. Hope you take these ideas into consideration and find a funding model that means you can keep this game alive with awesome content into the future.

This would be okay if it's not pay-to-win. Each month the player receives cosmetics, special newsletters, goodies (poster, figurine, plushie etc).

People could buy this via the Frontier Store, but by offering a subscription, players don't have to manually do these things and Fdev would get more consistent revenue from subscribers.

Guys, you still don't get

I am talking about additional option to buy ARX with some little bonus for that. Just that. Everything what you have now stays as it is.

I can see what you're saying, I'm just not seeing the advantage.

For £12 I will get everything I want to currently buy from FDev. Maybe I'll throw in another £12 in 6 months time, don't know, depends if I like future ships enough. If I want more Arx in the meantime because I see something I like, I'll just buy more Arx, but what will happen with a subscription is that I'll spend money on something that gives me a massive Arx balance but with nothing I currently want. Or I'll spend money on the subscription and not buy any Arx, thus defeating the whole point.

Alternatively I could just buy a bottle of wine with that money. I can see the immediate advantages of that bottle of wine and where my money would be going and what I wanted to do with it. Speculating that there might be something I want in the store at some point and paying for maybes doesn't work for me.

The dumbest idea that ever surfaced on this forum.
I'm very sry cmdr. But NO just NO.
Trust me it isn't even close to the dumbest thing on this forum. The OP has suggested something that they see as a viable option to bring in income to help the game like ship interiors consoles ships all viable ideas . In the end Fdev will do what they think is right .
