I'm not sure if this has been suggested elsewhere. I like the Codex. I like the idea of it but I feel as though a lot of things are noticeably absent from it. I feel like the Codex should be a one-stop shop for all sorts of neat data. But for the exploration side of the house, I feel as though it's seriously lacking. Especially since everything needed to make the Codex truly great is already in the game but not assembled right. Here's my suggestion for what should be added to the codex:
A list of all the systems I have visited.
A list of all the systems I have discovered first.
The data itself should be sort-able by various criteria: Star type. Number of stars in the system. Body type. Number of bodies in the system. There should be filters and all the other data goodies. I'd like to be able to find all of this in one place. It shouldn't be too difficult, right? EDSM, EDDB and various other third-party sites do a portion of this already. I feel like this is a function I should not have to look outside of the game to find, especially since all of the data is already available through the galaxy map. Putting it all in one neat place would be significantly better than having a thesaurus worth of bookmarks or a dictionary of carpel tunnel-inducing notes.
