A Musical Request from the Audio Team...

Didn't go through all the suggestions but:

*a gong
*drumroll
*harp intro
*trumpet intro, "ta-da!" and a kitschy medieval heralds' trumpet intro like in Rocky Horror when Frankenfurter appears for the stage show.
*old kitschy, Hollywood-style minstrel music from a Medieval court scene with tambourines and piccolos and fake boisterous crowd bustle
*jungle sounds with birds, rustling leaves and snapping twigs
*Wild West saloon roller piano music
*animal snarl and roar, rattlesnake hiss and rattle
*a load of earth/rocks being dumped/ sound of structural collapse/creaking wood/stress
*empty whistling winds, distant wolf howl
*distant drums
*sound of train fast approaching & doppler effect as it flies by
*distant train whistle
*champagne cork popping and people going "Ahh!"
*crowd reaction of surprise and applause
classic Looney Tunes sound of airplane diving
*engine sputtering
*bent saw spooky sounds
*moog sci-fi sounds from 50s
*cartoon ricochet sound
*Spanish guitar strum
*castinettes
*rushing water, torrents
*woosh!
*nautical creaking sound
*cartoon bubbling cauldron sound
*creaking wood
*door slamming shut with a thump, heavy door/hatch closing

well thats a start anyway ;-)

I would love to see some distant shouts added for the animatronics. "Curses" between Cowboys or shouts from pirates to the redcoats (like you would hear on the Pirates of the Carribean ride).

For me, the following would be useful...

• Large wings flapping,
• small space ship and/or fighter jet during takeoff.
• Dank/Gloomy sounds. Dripping water, lots of reverb for cave ambience.
• Magic swooshes, sparkles, fireballs and the like
• Countdown
• Sci-fi set lines ("Welcome aboard", "Prepare for departure", "Warning", "Emergency", "We are under attack", etc)

Aside from new samples, I'd kill for an advanced trigger/scripting interface. Would be great to be able to choreograph fountains / other animations more precisely (maybe show an FFT or similar? Or some visual indicator along the track). Perhaps even allow the duration of light/fountain activation to vary (for emitters and lights only, not animations).

I'm picturing a car ride with a synchronised music/light/water/firework show...

So forgive my ignorance but how does triggered music work at this moment? I was playing around yesterday with triggers and I placed the triggered speaker prop but I couldnt really figure out where I select the sounds [mouth shut]

You should have a drop down with options to different sounds when you select the speaker.

Make sure the speaker is not part of a building though. You may need to split it from the building (it's a button along the bottom of the pop up window if it's part of a building) to see the options to change the sound then once you've made your selection, you can add it back to the building.

Instead of individual sounds I grouped them since they are limitless!

  • Fantasy - dragon roars, sword fighting, medieval music, soldier bantering, blacksmith noises, Disney inspired whooshes
  • Sci-fi - robots, creatures/aliens, space (Star Wars inspired), energy beams, beeps and boops, alarms
  • Western - explosions, horses, crowded bar bantering, mining, machinery, bells, gunshots
  • Spooky - wolf howls, screams, knocking, lightning & thunder, owls, goblin moans, chains, chainsaw, evil laughs, hissing cats, dogs
  • Adventure - wind chimes, wind, wild animal noises, echos, falling rock, river water & splashes, birds chirping, safari trucks moving, tribal sounds, more cave sounds
  • Pirate - drunk pirate bantering & bar fighting, cannons, pirate sayings, Johnny Depp quotes (just kidding), ship creaks, sails in the wind, ambient large-scale battles, chickens & pigs, evil pirate music
  • Generic - looping upbeat and mild music (for ambience), laughing, cars, airplanes, trains, gate opening/closing

Could we possibly have a single piano note? [happy]
(Just like that musical glockenspiel, adjustable in pitch?)

I'd also love to hear a spooky heartbeat or breathing, or heavy footsteps. Or a child's laughter. [big grin] Give us creepy things!

Announcements:
While waiting in line for train. All aboard. And no further boarding at this time.
Monorail: please stand clear of the doors< Disney World
Also: Birds chirping,ducks quacking,crickets chirping. All sounds we could add to hidden speakers to create a more alive park.

Ooooooh, the announcements are a great idea. [happy]
Can we have spoken sentences in Planco? [squeeeeee]

What type of ride trigger sound effects and ambience audio would you like to hear in Planet Coaster?

Than ks for asking. Sorry I didn't see this sooner.

For ambient sounds, I would like

* constant electrical hum, like at a big transformer
* constant chuffing of a steam engine
* periodic but repeated grinding like cutting metal with a saw
* deep pounding sound, like from a piledriver or drophammer forge
* mechanical whirring and clicking
* some Dixieland-style New Orleans-type jazz music
* some banjo music
* some bagpipe music

For triggered sounds, I would like

* a string of firecrackers
* sirens that sound more like those on US firetrucks
* air raid siren
* klaxon horn beeps
* loud, deep air horn blasts like on 18-wheelers
* loud, high-pitched air horn like those hand-held ones
* steam whistle
* the "2 drums and a cymbal fall off a cliff" rimshot
* various anguished, spooky screams, moans, and cackles
* chains rattling
* really loud, spooky, deep door hinge sound (like for a big door opening at a haunted house)
* squeaky door hinge sound
* ominous footsteps echoing down a dark hall
* the quick scurrying of many tiny feet, like a herd of rats in the walls

Not sure if this has been suggested but maybe the sound of wood creaking as if it's about to give way...and then another sound for wood collapsing? If coasters with drop track sections are gonna be added sometime this would be a nice touch but otherwise it'll fit the spooky theme regardless. :D

Ocean/water sounds, Jungle noise/music

I would like to have jungle sounds and music too.
I really like some songs of RCT3, maybe there could be new songs for Planet Coaster which have the same music genre:
Buccaneer
Bush Baby
Girls Like Spice (if shows with fireworks and water effects would be implemented)

Maybe a poll in this thread would help to find out the most requested sounds and music.

Thank you for asking and this great game! [wink]

Ride Broken Down Audio

Sorry if I'm too late to suggest something, but can you consider adding a music selection to rides to play when they break down. I think it would be cool to have a audio loop of a breakdown message whenever it breaks down. I'm not asking you to make the audio for that by the way (unless you want to), I just would appreciate having the option to add it. I know most people probably aren't interested in having this kind of update, but at least I have contributed my thoughts.

This is a cool idea [up] its not something that can be done with a trigger so the devs would have to make it into an update, but definitely sounds good!

Yes currently you can't even trigger your custom music speakers, which I would like to have aswel and then they could simply make a tick box on the speaker to only play it when the ride it's triggered to is broken down. This is still only a very minor thing I would like them to add and the game is already the best theme park creation game I have ever played, so if they don't add it then that's cool with me.
