I may have a screen shot of one I found lying around somewhere.... You might want to check for octagonal craft while you're there 
Yes, the scan of them is worth a reasonable amount of money and they're often overlooked as they often look similar to a metal-rich world with a specific type of atmosphere. From what I've seen they're probably about as common as earth-like planets!

Listen to the planets in sysmap. Metal content planets are noisy, sound like an electric guitar or metal being cut, plus wind if there's atmosphere.
Ammonia Worlds -Terrestrials and Gas Giants- both go totally and eerily silent when you try to listen to them.
Is that inequivocal sound signature that can save you from such a long SC trip next time! ;-)
Yep! The planet "music" replaced my Radio Sidewinder, and it's great to be able to pick out those ELWs, water worlds, ammonia worlds, class II gas giants, and water/ammonia-life gas giants in seconds (two seconds, to be precise). ++
Maybe its just me, but I think Ammonias may be a bit more common than ELWs, and its probably just that they aren't as obvious as get easily missed - particularly the ones in with the outer planets. I'm probably 2-3 times as many Ammonias as ELWs on my current trip.
This is also my experience and observation. For every ELP, I found 2.5 AW

Interesting that you said that. On my way back to crowded (and dangerous) space, and stumbled across this one. The stats are pretty close to your Ammonia world. Nice find for both of us!
The rotational/orbital period on that world though... Yikes.

Yes, I remember finding at least one. Thought it was weird, but at the same time, I haven't paid too much attention to the atmosphere of the AW. So, I am not sure if I have found several or just that one that I happened to give it a hard look.
My guess is that it is indeed a rarity.
Looking through the data of those I collected lately, many had the Ammonia Oxygen atmosphere but not sure about the Carbon Ammonia part.
The most strange one I found of those, though, was an Ammonia World with Ammonia Based Life.....WITH NO ATMOSPHERE AT ALL!!
