Like, realistically, I think it would be perfectly reasonable to end DLC with all 8 species of bear represented. But I don’t think it’s viable or desirable at this point.

I agree that the brown bear split was the less understandable choice for me, too. Instead of the himalayan brown bear the American black bar would have been a good choice for the base game. I do not think as well that we get all 3 missing bear species. At least, the sloth bear seems to be out in my opinion.

And to the other Post: Pelicans would be great 👍

Agree, I think the sloth bear is unlikely. We have a Brown bear for the new world, and one from the old world. We have a black bear from the old world and it's possible we'd get one from the new world. Spectacled Bear being a short-faced bear would be different, just like the Sun Bear is different.

The difference between the two brown bears in contrast to the two black bears would be that the black bears are different species (the Tibetian black bear or how it is called in English is in fact a subspecies of the moon bear) while the two brown bears are only subspecies.
But it is what it is. In fact I could live with the American black bear if we don't get the coyote additionaly (or the other way round)

Edit: I would really like to have a spectacled bear by the way

Edit 2: If we should get American black bear and later spectacled bear I must say I really would like to get the sloth bear, too. For completion. (The same is the Leopard for Panthera or the alligator for Crocodillians). Perhaps it is my inner "Monk" 😀

I don’t think we really needed a distinct brown bear for each region, though. We could have just as easily gotten a “brown bear” and left it up to the player how to use it in their zoos. Kind of like how Frontier handled the reindeer and, aside from its name, the timber wolf.

My ideal world bear setup would have been: brown bear, Asiatic black bear, panda, and sloth bear in base game (I know I’m effectively trading an easy clone for a more unique species here but humor me). Polar bear and sun bear are fine where they are. American black bear in NA pack. And then finally spectacled bear in a 2022 SA animal pack. It works out very cleanly, with the same number of base game bears and 3/4 of the DLC ones appearing in animal packs so they don’t even dilute the pool. Having all 8 species represented would be so cool and so satisfying. It kills me that it feels like we’re so close yet so far.

Worst case would be the European brown bear if we get a Europe pack 🙈😀

The 1.5 update announcement was the 16 March, but the South East Animal Pack was announced only the 18 March ! "Classical" packs announcements are always separated by one single day with their update announcement. Do you think it will be the same configuration with the new Animal Pack ?
Can't wait two days :eek:

I'm not sure if we can wait two days.

I mean, obviously we can, literally, but after the early week tension....then again, it's just 24 more hours. and we now know something's coming and the theme. So yeah. it would not be so bad.

From the number of days left it probably has to be 9/23. In hindsight that's probably why the forum discussion topic was moved to Tuesday.

I agree with everyone saying, that it would be great to have all bears, but the liklyhood depends on 2 things imo:

- Do we still get a pack with atleast a part india focus? (Slothbear)

- Will frontier give us some low effort animals in a seperate dlc? (A better old world Brownbear)

Depending on that i think the likly hood of all other bears is increased for every bear we get.
So lets just hope, that if we get an NA black bear now, the chances for an india animal pack will rise

I think the DLC will be presented today. The 4th of october is soon and when each animal is presented on a different day, there is simply no time to wait any longer.

I would fine with one, the american black bear or the coyote, please not both.
My dream would be something like this:
