Facts? No.
I was a Christian, then a atheist, now I'm an agnostic. In over a 30 year military career, I've witnessed people of God (lose term) and the non-believer's do unspeakable acts of barbarism to others, but I've also seen people of faith give their own lives to save others (many times), and inspire greatness in those around them.
I will comment no more in this thread, but I do ask that posters please consider others feelings when commenting on matters that people may hold closely to their hearts.
Thank you for your service.
Wow this is still going on? Time for me to heal the rift.
Here's what I saw. A Christian attacking the OP as blasphemous. Which kind of sets me off because I've known too many Christians who are very passionate about all non Christians being wrong yet have never read the book themselves. So I posted those two links which point out, in scripture mind you, how God is not a very nice person. Let's put it this way,You most definitely wouldn't want to elect God as President(or Prime Minister if you prefer).
Which campaign slogan do you see more likely to be used by God:
A. Let's find a sensible solution to make peace with our enemies.
B. I have prepared a lake of fire for these heathens, believeth in me and their husbands, wives, sons and daughers and unbaptized babies shall burn tonight!
Yes, it was a bit in snark. I'm a snarky person.
Also, this is a forum for a video game where players sometimes compete against each other.
But I'm around Christians a lot. I have much respect for the good they do and much less criticism for any grief they cause. And it saddens me that I might have driven a wedge between us for even though I'm not a believer I think of you all as brothers.
And with that, I apologize. Until the next time I mouth off at least.
Go in peace my friend.
Also, a little drunk. But still sincere.
