A simple way to deal with "CLEAN" killers.... this will work for sure

I have read quite a lot of postings here about the pointless killing of clean players..
And that the bounty on their head is not high enough or that "buddy" then kill's him and collect the bounty ..

This game is advertised as play as you want .. but the penalty are not up to that style of play..

So my idea .. if you kill Clean PvP players ..and get scanned by the LAW.. there should not be a bounty on your head ...
No ! .. like in real life your should be BANNED for at least 30 days from the GAME..
You'r IP number must be banned for 30 days ..
Just like in real life you get take out of the community, you'r going to prison..

So be brave, be a killer ..but when the cops find you. you lose the game for 30 days ..

NOW see how manny dare to be such a player...

If you want to make a game like real life make rules like real life

:D

EDIT the can always play SOLO or Private but not PvP

Don't be stupid.

We WANT those players in the game. Tossing people out of the game because we don't share their love of a particular playstyle does nothing but harm.

Of course, you're trolling, but, well, even for a troll, this concept lacks thought.

the problem is that your hurting a bountyhunters who play as a chaotic lawful charator, with the kill warent scanner you can see if someone has a bounty on them, regardless of where its from. now if the warrent came from a diffrent sector, then its not a leagal kill in this sector and the hunter would have to deal with getting a bounty on there head for both assault and murder. but they are still playing a valid role that the game allows them to play. while I do know that your a troll, this is very poor as far as trolls go. ether way, this is elite dangrus, not elite fluffy pillowfights.

If you don't like to play in open world or even any mutliplayer game there exist you should just play solo.

Cmon, some people here don't even have the balls to fight anyone, this is just a game, would you run in real life when somebody attacks you or would you fight?

I think most of PVPers and Pirates are in real life normal and ethic people but this is just a game and you can be whatever you want all you need to do is try harder.

Don't be scared and run, stay and fight and if you loose be a grown up man and dont cry.

Banning from the game for this particular behavior is not something I would like to see.
I'd rather see the game had mechanisms to take care of it itself.

What I would like is an added reputation system based on behavior towards other players.
I want to be able to see if another commander has been attacking and/or killing a lot of fellow commanders.

Alternatively, force these player killers to spawn together at one particular planet in one particular system, all in Open play only, for a month. With no access to the rest of the galaxy and unable to SC away from the planet. Just place them there in this "Hellban" system. It'll have an outpost station with limited weapons.

This way, all the cute little psychopaths can buzz around each other.

Bonus round : Particularly nasty psychos won't be allowed back out until they stop zapping the other psychos for a length of time.

This accomplishes; 1) The only players the psychos can aim at, are other psychos, 2) They all get a dose of their own medicine, 3) The virulent ones are forced to not pewpew at other players for a bit, lest they be stuck at "Hellban" indefinitely.

Also, OP, you don't need a player's IP address - you just need their login account. ;)

First and foremost, Open Play isn't called "PVP", there are player interactions beyond trading laser beams. I'm not even sure if you're trying to joke really, a 30 day ban for killing someone 'clean' if you get scanned by an Authority Vessel? Really? I mean after reading all the threads you've claimed to be skimming this is your immediate and logical conclusion? I'm sorry, but I just can't agree with any of it. Harsher in-game penalties sure, such as, through means of the game - not some nonsensical ban-on-scan nonsense.

I can't fathom this being anything other than some kind of morbid sense of humor.

Not to mention this would just make Pirating players nearly impossible, and would force every player to just target drives (indirectly killing them anyways) every time.

Totally disagree with the OP. A "clean" sidewinder stole one too many bounties from me at a nav point in an anarchy system. Let's just say if I wasn't getting the bounty for the last ship he killed after I did 90% of the damage for about the third time in a row then he sure wasn't getting it either....:D

Totally disagree with the OP.
By choosing Open play, you agree the chance of being attacked by someone just for the giggles.
Go group or solo if you don't want to.

Oh, and you forgot to add this in your post:
"Player death is permanent"

So, basically you want to be able to play however you want, but those who enjoy PvP against other players should not have the same opportunity to play how they want, and furthermore should face a penalty for doing so?

What an entirely selfish and absurdly hypocritical statement to make.

I suggest that you take your own advice and stick to Solo or Private if you don't want the risk of another player attacking you, as you apparently don't seem to understand what flying around in Open entails. Players with your mindset ruin sandbox games, and cripple any possible potential for real dynamic play or actual open ended content additions.

Don't want to risk getting popped by a Rat? Stay out of Open or find some friends and run in a group. Problem solved.

oh my gawd.... should actually read some accounts from pirates, its quite a tough game for them, one even reset his account because he could not undo the reputation hit, not mentioning the bounty fine he had to pay when killed by an authority vessel, would bankrupt most of us. It is hardly even more lucrative to kill for the sheer joy of it since all your doing is running up one huge expense and trashing your game. The exploit of having your friend collect the reward at the expense of trashing your game is hardly an exploit.

Wacking a 30 day ban on top of it is plain stupid.

Killing clean CMDRs (aka Murder) should hurt the murderer, but should still be possible.
Large bounties, difficulty avoiding law enforcement in non-anarchy systems, etc.
