Perhaps, but as you can see by some posts here there are people who need to validate themselves through the usual verbal bashing of others.

Just glad that most stay professional and honor the forum we're in. We're here discussing about the BGS and it's technicalities, nothing else.

What irks people is when you talk about yourself in a way that borders on hagiography - whether that's in the BgS forum or elsewhere. That's all. Bit of humility and a sense of humor about it will save that dead horse a lot of lashings.

Perhaps re-read the op. This thread is about hyperbole and accusations. The OP is accusing a player of using exploits and hacking while the evidence says otherwise.

A single player holding an entire community hostage? This when their PMF has been dominant and stable in their system? Where's the evidence of this BGS attack?

- The only drops in the PMF influence look like the faction matched their influence with the former system owner to take two of the three orbitals. Their influence has been stable or climbing for weeks.
- The OP makes it sound like they've been suffering from this attack for a long time, but their PMF was inserted in late April.
- The OP says that they mistakenly chose a low pop system, while, in BGS terms, the system is around the median size for influence cap. (Influence caps start at 1k for just over 20% cap, 1M for around 16%, 10M for 10%, 100M for 7% and 1B and above for 4%.)
- The OP makes claims that the "hacker" can access any part of their discord at will and yet demands access to the same discord.

They're certainly not struggling. If you look at their current influence, it has spiked higher and they're in a boom state.

So no, this isn't about the BGS and its technicalities. It's just one of those "look at me" threads.

While it is true that the whole appearance of the thread literally screams "Notice me Senpai!" I still give the person the benefit of a doubt. The claims and the evidence not matching is quite the argument though, and I'd like to hear from the OP how he'd explain it.

There are people frequenting these boards who are literally starving for attention and will go out of their ways to get it. So far I haven't noticed the OP doing much of that.

I would prefer to give the accused the benefit of the doubt. I don't see why someone should come on here and point fingers without evidence. Especially when the evidence, given even a basic cursory look, says the target of the OP's disdain is being unfairly accused.

It's easy to point fingers and you might be willing to condemn the victim of this accusation by defending to accuser. But I prefer to hold judgement until evidence is presented. In this case, evidence was suppressed and turned out to weigh against the accuser.

Which is totally understandable. And it's ok with the criticism because you at least present facts where others are just verbally bashing on the OP for the sake of it.

I'm still ok though if the OP came around and gave us either a.) a sensible explanation for his posts (which I admit will be hard to communicate, at least on the BGS topics) or b.) an apology for the wrong claims he made (again, BGS related only).

I'm not going to turn my back on somebody that is found guilty on doing something wrong the first time. There's others who have had my trust and turned out to be quite the backstabbers in the end.

Which explains why I don't answer to certain people and their posts on this board and elsewhere. I simply don't waste my lifetime on people who are not deserving of it anymore.

It really is as simple as posting a sentry, opposing the said player, and going to Open to learn to run the BGS.
(Even had their PMF actually been struggling to begin with.)

on the Alt thing on Inara, you don t see it as duplicate if user is playing a bit with the network. Same for discord.
