When it comes to looks and performance, the Dassault Rafale is a sweet plane.
A bit older than the new ones maybe, but combat proven.
But when it comes to a track record, the F4 is still in use 70 years after it was designed.
Probably the best designed all round fighter/bomber ever, still comes to mind when you think "supersonic fighter". Against an unsophisticated ground force like ISIS, it would probably work fine with modern munitions- and a whole strike force would cost less than one crappy F35.
I'm waiting till they've been in service for some time before I pass judgement.
All I know is the Israeli Defense Forces have been using them very successfully in actual combat lately. Making the Russian produced Syrian air defenses look like garbage.
The amount of R&D that's sunk into this thing is mindboggling. I wouldn't dismiss it so easily..

They might have fixed it enough to solve the issues. After all, they aren't exactly going to send out a bulletin to random folks saying so. There's literally zero comparison to surgical face work, which almost always gets worse. This is just an excuse for me to use that image. Don't tell anybody.

Jag was awesome too, similar backside to the F4, those 2 feiry pits of afterburning lovelyness just below the tail!
Top choice, lovely fighter......I also have to shout out to the F15 and the MIG29+SU27(flanker family).......mmmmmm I love fighter jets
F14 though, just Mega, loved it before Topgun it's like the heavyweight boxer of the fighter world...thing just looks like it would smash your face in, no finnese (like the F16)....just a bruiser who'd pummell you with a Phoenix up the tailpipe!

It's a childhood thing for me. Grew up playing arcade flyers and the image of the F-16 became embedded in my mind.
I played a lot of F16 Falcon 4.0, Bejasysus now THAT was a sim!! You could press every one of the proper buttons in the cockpit just to start up the F16...awesome!
I believe B-2 Spirit was the most expensive, price per unit wise. Almost a billion dollars a pop, that's in late 90s dollars. Yikes.
That explains why us Brits brought a load of them!
