Pax Inter Astra is pleased to report that an early pilot scheme led by some of those returned from the Thargoid Titans has come to a successful close. For several weeks in March 3311, a team of Civil Servants, Clerical and Technical staff who had been taken to the Thargoid Titans and subsequently returned safely to human society were given temporary administrative control of the HIP 20827 system. During this time, Pilots Federation navigation computers identified the system's super-power alignment as "Thargoid". Throughout the course of the experiment, life went on as normal for most of the population of the system, and there were no hostile xeno encounters.
Another successful component of the trial showed that standard human habitation platforms could be adapted to be more comfortable to those Returned whose physiology was altered during their time on the Titans without significant impact to the rest of these platform's inhabitants.
It should be noted that while this experiment in peaceful coexistence was live, a squad of hostile Thargoid partisans made their way to Alliance space. No such incursion happened in our pilot systems, and at the end of the experiment control was returned to Li Yon Rui and his independents without incident.
This experiment demonstrates one option for peaceful coexistence with the Thargoids. As humanity's Colonization effort continues to expand our presence in the galaxy, we should reflect on the war that drove this expansion, this mass migration of souls. Expanded human presence in the galaxy makes it more likely that we will find ourselves sharing space with the Thargoids. The recent war did not make us safer, or reduce the chances of a future attack; instead it drove millions from their homes and made the executives of the Sirius Corporation even wealthier. The best path forward is a peaceful coexistence with our galactic neighbours.
We urge policy makers and leaders in Aegis to examine the results of this experiment with a view to updating their policy towards Thargoids in the future.
