A thank you to Frontier and a photographic study of sorts

I agree, no game gives the true sense of the cosmic scope and how small "Our" system is in the grand scheme of things! Nice screen shots, I have been taking allot as well! I think that Carl Sagan would "approve" of this game!

Yes, Elite sure does convey the sheer scope of things and no other game has made me want to take so many screenshots :)

Lovely pic, the sidewinder was my ship of choice for capturing screens before they released the debug camera. I may have to buy one for old times sake.

Actual "photographing" talent.

Great set-ups, easy to tell time effort and thought are put into them making for the best screenies of ED i've seen yet.

I reckon you should be able to buy a camera attachment for your ship. You could even incorporate it into the game play for things like exploration, prospecting etc.

Now this would be great and could be incorporated into some really interesting gaming mechanics. Exploration and possible espionage first come to mind.

This is something I was thinking about watching BSG on Blu-Ray the other day. There is a mission where Starbuck flies the Blackbird, a stealth ship, mounted with a camera. She FTLs into Cylon territory and powers down her systems (silent running?) while snapping pictures of the Resurrection ship as she drifts undetected right next to it, gaining intel for Cain and Adama to plan the attack.

How awesome would it be for FD to incorporate such espionage missions where you have to take the perfect shots of a given target. How much more awesome and adrenalin pumping would it be to have a stealth ship like the Blackbird for such a mission in the middle of an enemy armada to get a needed shot and jump back safely knowing that at any time if you're detected, it over.

I would love such a mechanic!

I think that would be a wonderful addition to the mission system. Espionage could take many forms: military, corporate spying etc. It would work really well with Powerplay too I'd imagine.
