A Warning To Those Using VoiceAttack

Do NOT sing a little ditty to yourself as you wait for your Cutter loaded with 688t of Performance Enhancers to auto exit from a station.

Particularly if one of your VoiceAttack commands is to toggle the main guns to fire continuously. (Used when mining so I don't have to keep my finger on the trigger.)

And that command just happens to sound like one of the words you are singing. :cry:

Everything would have been fine if, on seeing the hardpoints deploy, I hadn't decided to nudge the throttle so I had manual control and tried to retract the hardpoints. See, auto launch disables the fire triggers - until you take manual control that is!

Total rebuy cost : 54M credits.

I haven't jumped on the Voice Attack train yet... I will consider it if I leap into Virtual Insanity ... er Reality... at some point.

My Type-9 moves 752 tons and has a rebuy of 6.4M

Second Lesson: Do not use a Cutter as a cargo ship.

Nah.. I just don't waste my time engaging Elite Anacondas or anything else for that matter. I just shake off interdiction attempts and keep right on going. Takes me less time than loading-screen-to-instance-to-FDS-cooldown-to-loading-screen-to-jump-out to throw them off, and if there's another jump after that, I'll wait for them, with my aft end nestled into the star and watch them incinerate themselves trying to interdict me again.

Bum-to-star hasn't worked for a long, long time. I used to use it on my Robigo runs but they changed the NPC AI to stop them star-diving. Now they just circle you waiting for you to make a run for it.

I use the Cutter because it's a nice, easy way to collect High Grade mats when they send 4 Condas out after me. ;)

Try again, I still have great success with it.

I have not seen that behaviour and have seen NPCs vanish when the star was between me and them and I thought one star dived as well recently but maybe he just gave up.

I honestly don't know how I am able to endure the amount of effort I have to use to keep my finger on the trigger when mining. You don't think that's just a bit OTT?? Especially as it also demonstrably adds an additional risk.

I used it not half hour ago... it works all the time. The AI improvement where they would avoid it has long gone.

It's also a nice easy way to blow 54 million credits when you balls up the launch

Command confidence level was put in just for that sort of thing ;) On the, 'Edit a Command' screen, play with the 'Minimum confidence level' setting on your more perilous commands. Might save you some credits sometime!
