I am more of an archer, although I do own an Arms&Armour Gustav Vasa rapier and a good old hand-and-a-half cruciform.

just as an example,spaceshuttle pilots were nearly all military test pilots etc,pilots would be used to navigating on instruments,be used to the effects of g forces and there are lots more examples where those skills would be transferrable to space travel.

Yes, but all the flight tricks that pilots learn are only applicable to atmospheric flight. Flight in space would be entirely different. Of course, Elite4 will simplify the flight model, so it could actually make piloting experience worthwhile, but I'd hope that we'd still have some sense that we are flying in space, rather than in atmo.

I would guess that had something to do with the fact that the shuttles had to be flown back through the atmosphere to land back on Earth?

I too studied Physics at university with a number of Astrophysics modules. I guess therefore my understanding of mechanics and such is perhaps above average.

Like Alien my day job is kind of like Bounty Hunting, but without the glamour and women!:)

I have an unerring tendency to find bugs and glitches in programs - usually when I'm not even trying to find them.

Ingame that would probably lead to me winding up doing all sorts of stuff that shouldn't be possible within the game engine itself...

Dunno if you can call it a skill.

But i stopped working and i stil receive full working pay, whit out the need to lift a finger to work ever again as long i live.

Knowing the law and been an accountant, i take max advantage of any deal i discover.

I got used to getting beaten up and having my lunch money taken when I was at school. I think this puts me in good stead for getting my butt kicked and my cargo stolen on repeated occasions.

I've also had pilot training.

I often enough the head in the moon. I think it is an advantage for this kind of game.
